This place was fantastic. gorgeous and spacious rooms, fantastic gardens, stunning open tradional buildings. The staff in the resturant, cleaners, gardens etc were great and very helpful and accomadating, however the receptionist was a bit rude.
The value for money was amazing, very good prices on food, room service, and the bar even the mini bars prices were the same as 7/11. The rooms are large comfortable and well appointed with balconies and out door settings.
We enjoyed a few meals and drinks in the bar/resturant, and realy enjoyed the realaxed nature of the palace and the staff working in the bar/restuarant.
We will stay at this place again, we just loved everybit of it, however the receptionist was a pain, but you just cant go past this stunning hotel for value, comfort, and great freindly staff

Ok so there is no cafe de France restaurant page on it's own, so I had to attach a review to this page. My review is based around the criticism given from being a chef back in Australia. The restaurant is hidden at the back of hotel, and we walked in off the street and were greated with friendly service. I originally had doubts wondering about freshness of food quality, being that it be the quiet season, and we were the only two people in the restaurant. Menu is daunting, especially if you've never tried French food. But on the last page I was happy to see a degistation menu (5 course meal) As I was confused what to get, and this is made up of, all the chefs signature dishes. For 2 people it is 60aud. Back home you would pay over 200aud for this kind of menu. First thing you get is complimentary bread, fresh bread with garlic butter. Shortly after you receive 2 entrees, ive never had snails, the dish is amazing, they taste like mushrooms ;) next you get a beautiful duck dish and then lamb fillet for main. Next is a self saucing chocolate pudding with ice cream. Only flaw was it was lightly burnt, but hey, most people wouldn't notice a mild flaw at a place like this. Cocktail menu is refreshing, or you can match your meals with wine. Will try to eat there again before we leave, the food was that amazing. A must eat at place. Thank you

Stayed here a week ago and whilst the grounds of the hotel are beautiful, the staff were not! Also, if you need wifi, stay clear of this place as it just doesn't work. They charged me full price to use their internet cafe. Breakfast was okay and rooms were average. Showers were AWFUL All in all below average stay.

Pro's

-Location and the grounds

Con's

- Customer Service
- Wifi
- Showers

What a find close to the heart of Patong yet quite & peaceful. Our stay was from 18th June to 27th June 2012. We were booked to stay across the road at Salathai Resort but after hubby had an accident we required a ground floor room with wheelchair access or no stairs for his crutches. They were booked out so we cancelled & went to Royal Phawdee Village. The Pavilion Bungalow down the back of the property suited the wheelchair access perfectly. Hubby progressed to using his crutches more & the extra space in the room & bathroom suited us fine. This was there most expansive room but we loved it.

The grounds are beautiful & tended to everyday. We had a terrific large patio area with table & chairs, ceiling fan & a daybed to admire the view of the gardens. It was quite with mainly older couples & some well behaved families. I think this hotel is popular with Asian (maybe Japanese) travel agencies as there were a constant stream of these guests over the 9 days we were here.

A fab pool with many sun lounges & cleaned every morning. The pool stays in the sun until about 3.30 - 4pm each day but was still cool enough to be refreshing as it has a 2mtr deep end. We only used the restaurant for breakfast daily & room service on one occasion. The buffet was medium sized with a good selection & an egg station. Coffee/tea was served as soon as you sat down & all the staff had big smiles, a welcome 'morning' & ready for a chat.

The bungalow was large but the bathroom was huge. There was a four poster king bed (hard) lovely bedding, flat screen TV, plenty of clothes hanging & draws, minbar, fridge, kettle, desk with mirror & chair a daybed, safe, umbrellas, slippers & bathrobes. The bathroom had a separate toilet in an enclosed room, a separate shower, a spa bath, a long bench, double vanity & products galore. Very well set out & maintained.

Sitting on our patio we had many staff pass by our bungalow to go to the laundry & equipment/storage room regularly throughout the day. They all had big smiles a friendly "Sawadee Kha" or stop for a chat even the maintainence men. I must say thank you to the staff (the exception were the receptionists not as happy or friendly) as you make Royal Phawadee Village a wonderful place to stay. As it was my hubbies 50th birthday during our stay the hotel placed a beautiful cake in our room while we were out & Miki presented hubby with a little bouquet of flowers from the garden. Again thank you we will return.

The Hotel is not located beachfront but it's a matter of minutes by walk to reach the Patong beach.
Very nice hotel, all divided in bungalows each with a patio with table and chairs outside; Staff very polite and friendly, 3 restaurants; I did try only La Boucherie and I do suggest it; top meat and top cooked !! and price ratio very good;
Room spacious with big TV screen, air-con not noisy at all, big bathroom with very big shower; cleaning of the rooms very good; it's a 10-15 minutes walk to Bangla Rd (top destination for nightlife); The nice but not so big swimming pool is among big palm trees which are all over the place; Inside the nature and you just need to take a few steps out of the hotel lobby and you are in Patong; if you want peace, you just need to go back to your hotel; nothing will bother you there; beds are very comfortable, International channels on TV; Did not try Spa services and Thai restaurant. Did try breakfast, which is good quality, but food choice is not as big.
Overall a great experience and I would strongly reccomend !!!!!

We stayed for 4 nights at Garden view. The hotel looks lovely with Thai decorations and closed to shopping and dining. 5 mins walk to the Patong Beach too. However, we were disappointed with the service by the receiptionist. Not friendly and unhelpful. No greeting to customers upon arrival. The only friendly staff is the cleaner and waiter at the restaurant.
We stayed in deluxe room and facing the garden which look lovely however, we experienced lots of mosquitos during our stay and also bed bugs too. We understand that evereywhere you travel in Asia, you may experience with mosquito as the room is at low lever and facing the garden but cleaninest of the priemises play apart to make customers happy and enjoy their stay. Do we want to stay here again ? NO, after experienced the poor service of receiptionist, bed bugs and mosquitos !

On first checking in we were met with the most disinterested and rude receptiionists (not a language issue guys, just plain old rude).

First impressions - nice place despite the rude welcome.

Second impressions - wow, so many mosquito.

First night - I was savaged by mosquito, even though we had sprayed the rooms before going out.

Next day, my sister who had room next to us said she had felt itchy all night. I assumed it was mosquito also.

Day three, she had 30 or so marks on her body which looked really red and sore. A few days later, when we moved on to Singapore, when they are getting no better, we consult a doctor and we are told these are bed bug bites. Lovely. 4 days after we have left this hotel, my sister is covered in red and oozing sores. She is so uncomfortable and upset.

The only good thing about this resort is the really nice morning staff in the restaurant. The really bad thing, other than bed bugs and disease, is the appaling reception staff who accuse you of stealing slippers and cushions on check out.

Appaling and most awful visit. Even worse when we consider that this is a European owned resort. It has the potential to be so good, but for us you have ruined our visit to Phuket.

Thanks for nothing guys. Hate your hotel. Never coming back!

Room Tip: U want to be bitten by bugs in you bed? Stay here!
