Stayed for 7 nights after being referred by a work colleague. Place was clean, staff very friendly. If u are looking for a hotel in a quiet area at a great price, then I thoroughly recommend. My sister and I stayed in a Junior Suite overlooking the pool. Very quiet.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back of the hotel as is thee quietest of the rooms.

Totally disappointed. We booked a family room for 7 nites, as we were told it was good for couples.... WRONG! The family room is basically a larger room with a wall put up right down the middle, with glass bricks so it get some sort of light shining thru from the joining room. Tiny room = tiny bed. The kitchette was very dated, the fridge was rusted, the bathroom was dirty. Our room was only made up once during our (shortened) stay.
We were told we had to take our own rubbish out of the room! Toilet paper was in short supply as was the water.
We never received our complimentary meals or sauna, which was part of the package.
The power went out all day twice! They then decided to charge 80bht per 30 minutes for the FREE Wi-Fi!!
We cut our stay short after they started charging everyone for the Wi-Fi, even when all these items were listed on ppls itinerary.
We left after 4 days here.
I have been to Phuket 5 times and to be honest this place just scraps in as a 3* hotel.
If you want a cheap stay with breakfast in the northern end of Patong (Kalim) then go for it. But there is MUCH better & more inviting than The Sunset Beach Resort.

The hotel was nice but just a few things pushed it from being better.
1 - when we arrived, the room wasnt ready so we had to wait
2 - when we got into our room there were no towels so we had to ask for them
3 - the shower was covered in mould and needed a good scrubbing

but all that could have been over looked. the worst was the customer service.
We rented a bike from the hotel and it was like we asked the girl to sever her right arm and give it to us. Lots of huffing and grumbling when showing us the bike (which was overpriced compared to renting from a shop a few doors down from the hotel!) And after we returned the bike and realised we left something in the pocket of the bike, all of a sudden she didnt speak english and didnt (want to) understand what we were saying, even though her english was very good when asking for passports and money to rent the bike out.

When I went down to order room service and asked for help to carry it to my room, i was told to take it myself! not exactly room service but there you go! (i ordered it from the restaurant as I have problems understanding people on the phone)

Breakfast was ok but the restaurant itself was heving most mornings and staff did little to clear tables etc. quickly. Most days I could have just rocked up and helped myself without a breakfast ticket as there was no one checking it most of the time.

The hotel is situated at northern patong, a few km from center. The hotel has shuttle service to center once/ hour at day time and early evening. The hotel is very clean and they have a good breakfast - buffet style. The hotel reception you can buy sightseeing trips around phuket with reasonable prices. There is cleaner next door and massage is near (hotel massage is more expensive). The staff was helpfull and nice. The hotel dont have a beach, but there is small one about 500m south, main beach is in town. Pool is ok, with basic services. If you like quiet and easy going place this is for you, more partying persons there are better choices at town.

Booked last min at sunset beech hotel and got 50% off price. So Was thinking the the worse but turned out to be pretty nice. The rooms are massive and would of been big even  for a family. The hotel it  self is also really nice and the pool is really nice for catching rays or a dip. The hotel is right on the beech front and just five mins walk from the main strip. The only problem I had with the hotel was the staff, much younger crowd of staff then other hotels we stopped in and not that helpful .  Poor English skills even from the reception /   tour concierge which is strange as 99% of the people in the hotel where uk/aus. The only exception was the breakfast staff who always very happy to see you and help :) really nice stay over all.

Great staff, always very helpful and made my stay a memorable one, also a nice clean room serviced daily.

I rotated my journeys around southern Thailand whilst centralizing my stay at the Sunset.
It was all too easy, not to mention the cheeky and very fun group at the Karim Thai Massage just down the lane.

The hotel is in just the right spot, didn't think so at first but in the end mighty glad it was where it was, enjoyed some great sunsets whilst par-taking in the odd Chang or two either at Brush, which is a must or further on up the road to 5! 5! Bar and restraurant.

Great trip made all the better for staying here at the Sunset..

Room Tip: 5303 was great... suited my needs easily!

Being our maden voyage overseas, we chose Thailand as we heard so much about this exotic country and it's islands. We wanted to be located nearby all attractions and amenities so allowed our consultant at Flightcentre to do the necessary. This Resort has the perfect location, situated a bit north of Patong close to Kalim Beach & away from the hustle & bustle of the city but not too quiet. It's about a 10 minute drive away from Bangla road Patong were everything happens from bars, pubs, restaurants, shopping malls and markets, shows and much more.... What a nice idea for the resort to have a free shuttle service running every half hour each day from 9am-9pm which saved us some bucks & we only needed to take a taxi or tuk- tuk if we wanted to stay out late for the night life. Really awesome views of the beach from the reception area. Breakfast was good each day with a variety of foods ranging from traditional bacon & eggs, fruits, cereals, yogurts, breads, croissants, muffins, cheeses, jams and lotsa of traditional Thai foods like fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, Thai curry and egg noodles however it could be served until 11 am for those party animals sleeping in bit late. Most staff were friendly especially hearing that Thailand was known for the 'land of smiles' but for the few not so friendly ones we greeted & smiled politely so they returned the gesture very quickly. Restaurant foods were very good as we ate there a few nights example seafood, egg noodle dishes, stir fried dishes, salads, pizza, green & red Thai curry and especially room service coming from the night market were we would definitely not eat which was available until 12am. All amenities were within the resort ranging from swimming pool, jacuzzi, Sauna, beauty and spa treatments, tourism desk that arranges your tours, 3 bars etc.
We had a superior room on the 5 floor with amazing views overlooking the entire resort and pool area. Rooms were very neat with shower in en-suite with mini- bar/fridge And yes of corse air con which was most important. Bedding were changed daily and rooms were serviced as soon as we left for breakfast and would at most times be cleaned on our return. Toiletries and bottled water was also replenished daily complimentary, water oh my word such a comodity in Thailand as we could not use tap water to even brush our teeth of fear of picking up a tummy bug so played it safe. Service of drinks and snacks at pool bar was a bit slow even though there wasn't too many guests lazing around the pool soaking up the sun maybe this is because those Thai people are so laid back and have not seen anyone get angry throughout our stay in Thailand as a matter of fact. No need to bring beach towels along as we could get at the pool bar. Just at the back of the resort there is a little back road with a laundry, massage parlors, hairdresser, tattoo parlor, a nice neat Thai restaurant, tailor and most importantly a tuck/ house shop with blue roofs, they sell everything from cigarettes, headache pills, bread, milk , cold drinks, cold beers and spirits right on our doorstep and only a stone throw away, magical if you didnt feel like walking too far to the family mart further along the beachfront in that Thai humidity and heat. Overall i had a good stay at the resort accept for a few minor things that they can improve on like renewing some of their towels, bedding and crockery and maybe deco which is a bit outdated but then again it's my personal opinion but it could be part of the island resort experience. Had a perfect Thailand holiday with a touch of the local experienced aswell.

Room Tip: A good room to choose is a superior or deluxe double room for couples or suites for families over lo...
