This "resort" is not a resort - it is an old hotel, with nice decoration. It is old, not well kept, with a disastrous manager who couldn't care less about the guests (she was doing the make up seated at the front desk). Examples are endless: the complimentary bottles waters were never in our room and we had to ask them for 2 times; the bathroom towels had stains; the ceiling of the bedroom had humidity spots; the paiting of the walls was falling apart; the staff was very friendly but couldn't say and understand a word of english; the location: far from Patong (which is not bad) but close to a very busy and noisy road.

A wonderful boutique hotel with stunning views of Patong Beach, Bay and town. The grounds are beautiful, pool is immaculately clean and crystal clear. The staff are all great but we must mention Arm, Nok & Dang and thank them for making our stay that extra bit special. Breakfast was great, eggs cooked fresh to order, the muesli is yummy too! Room Service also great and reasonably priced.
Rice the restaurant is absolutely stunning at night, the panormaic view over the beach and Patong make a magical backdrop topped off with a musician that plays the piano & can sing! The food is fabulous, staff attentive. Romantic without even trying!
This hotel is up the hill out of the craziness of Patong, not suitable for kids it's quiet & peaceful nothing there for them to do. Taxi 150-200 baht (depending on where you get in it) up the hill & it's an easy walk down. So the only negative is that the shops are not at your finger tips, apart from that it's a beautiful little oasis that we loved & would definitely recommend.
P.S.I read alot on these reviews people complaining about the staff not speaking "good English" - you are in Thailand, it's part of the fun of being in a different culture. If English is what you want go to an English speaking country, it's really that simple.Maybe if you took the time to learn a little bit about the culture of the place you are visiting you might have a better understanding.Less expectations might make for a happier holiday - Thai people are living proof of that.

Room Tip: We were spoilt staying in the presidential suite so we had the best room there however if you are go...

I agree with the review done by "tasteitMelbourne". I chosed this hotel because it has Thai traditional decor and the pictures on the website. The room looks spacious and hotel seems has good view. Our first night was disaster. After 9 hours flight from Sydney to Phuket, we arrived late night and were exhausted. There was loud disco and singing party next door didn't stop until 2am in the morning. We couldn't sleep and by 12am we had to turn on the aircon (we turned it off before as it was so noisy sounds like old train on the track). One noisy to offset another. The next morning, I made complain to the manager, She said it is beyond her control. I pointed out to her by saying this kind of event is not going to be one off, it would be nice to notify the customer in advance as courtesy. The staff generally nice but did not have good training, always forgot to bring the things you asked for. The location of the hotel is up the hill, although you get nice view of Patong Beach but is far away from every thing, there is no shop or restaurant around place. The hotel is on the busy road, if you a light sleeper, you will be wake up by the truck or cars noisy when they accelerate. Overall, my feeling about the property is it could be much nicer if it was properly managed. However, my 6 year old son loves it because the cat "cookie" and the room we had was pool access.

This hotel is a lovely oasis a short distance away from the noise, crowds, and craziness of Phuket. We had never been to Phuket before so we first booked a place in town on the main street, which is a mistake as Phuket is party central, particularly for the under 25 set. We left that place and found Baan Yin Dee. The hotel is beautiful, quiet with gorgeous views of the town and the beach. We took advantage of the shuttle and the relatively cheap taxi fares to get up that hill but we also walked it at times to get some exercise (followed by a tip in the beautiful array of pools). Like other places in Thailand, the staff was nice and helpful though their English was limited (except for the Manager) and the WiFi was spotty at best. Nevertheless, we are wordl travelers and this was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed.

Room Tip: We stayed in a deluxe room on the third floor in the back building. It was quiet and had a view (no...

This is our 3 rd stay at Baan yin Dee , last visit 5 years ago , at that time it truly was a 5 * boutique resort !
Sadly I now have to report it has dropped standards to below a standard resort !
Best words to describe " TIRED"
The new owners ! Well don't understand what is expected of them and there staff to make it a 5* boutique resort .
There are so many small details that are lacking ! Those are in the service areas .
The larger issues are to fix Air Con , Regular Hot water supply and lack of WiFi but in general the staff are very friendly but need direction from management !!
My next visit to Patong I will be looking to stay elsewhere if the negative responses persist for Baan Yin Dee .
It was a perfect place to stay in the past , now just catch up to the future and it will be the place to be again .

We stayed for 5 nights, the resort is in an excellent location with great views we got a good deal so didn't end up being too pricey.
Rooms are big, clean and a nice place to stay, we had a room with pool access which was great for a morning dip.

However, the restaraunt is expensive and the drinks are very over priced with a service charge and VAT added in top. No wonder no one was ever there for dinner.

It was our honeymoon but they failed to recognise this and didn't get any extras not even a free glass of wine!

Overall staff are friendly and accommodating, its in a great location good place to chillax and there are 4 free shuttle buses a day down to Patong otherwise its a 10 min walk down the hill. Make sure you barter with the tuk tuk drivers as they don't like driving up the hill, we managed to get the tuk tuks for 150 bahrt.

If the restraunt and bar were a little cheaper i would consider staying here again

Sure you have to climb a crazy hill to get home or pay a ridiculous 200 baht to a tuk tuk driver from Patong, but if you're looking for a quiet escape that's still amongst the hoards of farang tourists, shopping and bars then this is the place. The rooms are huge, clean pools, room service/ Rice restaurant is expensive but good service overall. The breakfasts are divine and you can say hello to the resident black cat "Cookie".
