Seaview Patong Hotel

Certificate of Excellence

We've just returned from a wonderful holiday in Patong where we spent six nights at the Seaview. What a delightful hotel! Everything about it is excellent, from the location to the friendly staff. Patong is renowned for its lively and noisy nightlife, and this hotel is at the "quiet" end of town, but a mere ten minute walk to the shops, nightclubs and bars. Across the road is the beach - pretty and not very busy. The hotel itself has two wonderful swimming pools with waterfalls, fountains and jacuzzi-type bubble areas. Both the pools and their surrounding areas are kept spotlessly clean. Friendly but unobtrusive staff were always about keeping the place tidy, bringing out fresh towels and so on.

Our room was enormous and beautifully maintained. Of course most people don't go on holiday to spend all their time in the room, but it is nice to come back to such a cool oasis of calm after a hectic day out and about. The room was cleaned and tidied every day, fresh towels appeared and four bottles of drinking water were provided too. The bed was huge and very comfortable. From the little balcony we had a lovely view of the sea and overlooked the hotel's Spirit House!

Breakfast at the Seaview was delicious and plentiful. Whilst I didn't bother with a freshly-made omelette (though they looked great and my husband says they were scrummy, I feel I can eat omelettes in England!) I made the most of the fresh tropical fruits. Mango, pineapple, watermelon, papaya, pomelo, lychees, dragon fruit and more, all freshly sliced and peeled. The platters of fruit were replenished regularly too. Other items on the breakfast buffet included western favourites like croissants as well as eastern dishes and noodle and rice-based dishes. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying the spread - there was something for everyone.

Every member of staff we encountered was polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was handled efficiently and with a smile.

Some reviewers have commented on the lack of free wi-fi. Instead of whinging you can walk five minutes to the nearest bar or restaurant - most have free we-fi.

Would we return to the Seaview Patong? You bet! It's a lovely hotel, very well run and very well situated.

Room Tip: The DeLuxe room on the third floor has loads of natural light and is bright and spacious.

We stayed in the Seaview Patong between the 9th of August and the 17th of August. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel had very nice breakfasts. The two pool areas were very clean and well-kept, and the service from all the staff was exceptional.

Patong beach was just across the road, however; there are many other nicer beaches to visit. The proximity to Bangla Road and the shopping is what makes this hotel ideal. You are within walking distance, but you are also far enough away from the centre of Patong that the noise doesn’t keep you up at night.

The biggest draw-back of the Seaview Patong is that they don’t offer free internet. They charge you 100 Baht for an hour and 300 Baht for the day. Considering that most little shops and restaurants in and around Patong offer free wifi, you are better-off taking a walk to the nearest pub and connecting while having a drink. Also, you can buy 7-day data packages on sim cards for your smart phone from the local pharmacies for approximately 200-250 Baht.

Ultimately, we would definitely come back to stay at the Seaview Patong. Very good value for money!

Room Tip: We stayed in the block closest to the lobby of the hotel on the 3rd floor. This side of the hotel se...

Stayed here first week of August with my husband, daughter and her fiancee. Breakfast was good, but could do with more than one person cooking the omelettes/eggs to order. The staff were very helpful and friendly, however they're very laid back and nothing is served in a rush. No urgency to serve drinks and get your bill! Room was large and looked out over the sea. Beds and towels daily, although no cleaning done. Bottles of water replenished daily too.
The pools were lovely. Very clean with comfortable sunbeds and new towels daily too. Overall if we were to visit Phuket again (which is doubtful), we would certainly stay here again. However, Patong is just a little bit too commercialised for our liking.

Room Tip: Sea view recommended.

We had 12 people in our group total. We booked 4 rooms (1 family of 4, 1 family of 3, 1 couple, 1 couple + extra bed). Upon arrival the front desk seemed very disorganized at first and the process to check in took about 1 hour. They couldn't figure out the price for the additional bed, and we advised them of late check for one of the rooms. It all worked out and we went to our rooms.
My husband and I were the couple in one room and we were given 2 bed instead of 1 king as was requested in the booking. The other rooms were fine. I called the front desk and at first they said they couldn't move us until the next day as nothing was available, but they called back and said they found us a room and it would be closer with the rest of our group as well. That was excellent service on their part.
The rest of the stay for 4 nights was uneventful. The breakfasts were delicious and the variety was abundant. My only complain is that one day one of the juices was not cold and it didn't taste right. But everything else was super.
The rooms itself were a little dated. We stayed on the fourth floor and had a view of both the ocean and the pool. The beach across from the hotel is nothing to write home about. However, the location of the hotel could not have been better. We were about a 15 minute walk away from Bangla Road. Tuk tuks are 300Baht if you don't feel like walking.
The service and the staff were always great. The poolside bar had good deals as well during happy hour.

This hotel was recommended to us, and as we wanted to stay in Patong, we decided to book at this hotel. Our check-in did not go well, as we did not get the room type that we booked. They could only give us the type of room we booked after 2 nights. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is the best that I've ever seen - huge variety. The pools and pool bars are very nice and not too pricey. Location is also great - in Patong, but far enough away from the hussle & noise.

We've stayed in the hotel for 3 nights.
The room is really great and comfortable.
A/C works great. Theres a small nice balcony with chairs.
Breakfast is nice but the big problem is that there's no air condition and it's really bothering to start the morning in the high humidity.
Swimming pool is great.
There's no free wifi and the price for using it is high and annoying!

In general the stay was very nice.

This hotel was recommended to us by friends who raved about its location - close enough to the night life of Patong, but not too close to be disturbed by the noise. The staff were friendly, the pool area was great and the rooms were comfortable. The absence of free wi-fi was disappointing although for B300 per day, one could access the hotel's wi-fi network, The breakfasts were good. We enjoyed a complimentary Thai set dinner as part of our package which was very tasty. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for accommodation in Patong.
