Ok but never again

Stayed here in June 2012. Very old and dated. Breakfast same same. Staff not very friendly and with very limited english. Room was small and in need of a facelift. In great position to acess the beach and Patong attractions. Need to lift their game !!

Great hotel

My partner and I stayed at the patong merlin in a superior pool view room. The room was spacious and comfortable, everything was clean and the service was very friendly! The pools are fantastic and the location is also great. You are close to everything you need!!! I would stay there again for sure!!

Magical place to stay abdolutely loved it highly recommend it.

Great place to stay location could not get any better weather,shopping,pool the bomb would not hesitate going to stay again and have recommended it to all my family and friends LOVED it .. The only criticism some of the staff need to get a personality I don't know if it was the language barrier or if they were just plain rude .. But don't let that stop you from staying there :)))

Always enjoyable!

We have stayed at the Patong Merlin about 8 times over the past 12 years.
Always found the service great. We had issues with our room one year and it was rectified to our satisfaction and we have always been welcomed back with open arms and our room requests have always tried to be met.
Love the breakfast on offer. Something to suit everyone.
Enjoyed the option of a few pools - the kids like going pool hopping!
Free shuttle over to Merlin Beach.

good stay but definately needs maintenance work

We have been staying at the Patong Merlin for many years and stayed in October again this year. We stayed in the newer wing (although it is also in need of some updating) as we have for the past couple of years, they are nice rooms and have the benefit of separate walk in shower.

The selling point for this hotel is the pools (4) but the second pool was very poorly maintained this year, algae was blooming all around the pool, it was a constant problem, I spoke to one of the cleaners one morning and showed him the green he then started brushing the pool and kept at it for quite a few hours, at last we had a day or two of algae free swimming, but it started coming back again with vengeance, it is a shame that the hotel owners are not putting in an effort to maintain their property, if they continue this way they will lose a lot of their regular patrons. The sun loungers, cushions and umbrellas around the pool are so old and shabby that there were a couple of incidents where umbrellas broke and in one case someone was hurt when an umbrella stand shattered. Not having free Wi Fi in this day and age is ridiculous, then paying for it and not being able to access it is even more of a problem. I love the Patong Merlin but I wish the owners would open their eyes and ears and do something about the complaints, staff have told us that it is no good complaining to them because the owner dont listen. Please Patong Merlin do urgent maintenance and upgrading before your occupancy levels drop so low you will be begging for patrons.

Room tip: Book the rooms in new wing or newly renovated rooms in wing 2.
