stayed at this hotel for 9 nights. two families with teenage children 9yo and 6 yo. hotel was perfect. this hotel is being refubished at the moment but this did not in anyway disturb our holiday. service was great staff friendly.food at restaurants and room service were good. this hotel has lots of happy hours throughout their hotel-take advantage of this and find out where they r when first getting there.pools were fantastic swimup bar even better.have stayed at ban thai before but this hotel was heaps better.close to all shopping.out the front just to right of hotel facing beach there is a great tuk tuk driver named tommy, his tuk tuk is called cabbie legal and on back best cabbie,he is great have used him 3 yrs in a row.all the usual stuff is close by massage, good food laundry etc.would recommend this to anyone singles, couples and families. thanks holiday inn for a great holiday.will be returning.

Stayed here in June as part of my 35th Birthday Celebrations. I seriously cannot fault anything with this hotel/resort. On my birthday I even had a cake from the Holiday Inn staff (i had not appraised them it was my birthday) and had 4 staff members singing in my room for it. Was a wonderful touch :)

The location here is amazing, and you feel safe in the surroundings. Sure there are the normal touts outside the hotel, But hey, you're in Thailand, and you will get them anywhere where tourists are... Live with it.

The rooms were excellenty appointed, and very comfortable. Loved the big sofa type thing for afternoon naps.

I am already looking at going back there for Christmas as it was such a good time, and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

we stayed here for 10 days with our 11yo Grandson in a Superior room with 2 queen beds. We used the Hotel Pickup and it was superb, within minutes of arriving we were ushered to a waiting Luxury Car for not much more than a taxi. Well worth it as there was a big quieu for taxis.Room wasn't ready as we were early so they kept our bags and gave us drink vouchers and we had a swim, they came and told us when it was ready. Room was large and had everything you needed .Bathroom had a large Separate shower . you can get some with a bath if you request this.Had a balcony too but was to humid for me to sit out for long. View wasn't much as we looked over the Burasari Hotel and we were on 3rd floor so not high enough to see any ocean. Room was kept lovely, twice a day.Couldn't fault a thing. Used the Main Pool once but it is not as nice as the Busakorn one. As they were renovating the buildings around the Busakorn we had no hassles using that one and the loungers. It was a lot quieter and more picturesque. I went to the Spa too,not cheap but was very nice.Had the Sugar scrub and Body Bliss. Breakfast was included and was very good, you couldn't complain as they catered for all tastes,if you wanted to be picky, only thing they didn't have was Tinned fruit/prunes but there was a lot of fresh fruit instead. Only tried the Pizza Place one evening meal and it wasn't much. Not far along Beach Rd for eating places. We had several meals at Sabai, Sabai down Soi Postoffice past McDonalds. As we were getting suits made nearby at Euro Fashions. We didn't go over the road to the beach, as we went on trips and the pool suited us better, Grandson played around the childrens pool but thought the slide a bit small so not much for the older child to do besides swim.Didn't use the Kids Club as we were out a lot.Taxi was 200b to go to most places like Bangla Rd or Jungceylon to shop. All in all we had a fantastic time and will probably come back again sometime

I had reservations about staying at a Holiday Inn property - and when we arrived at the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket I initially thought that we had been brought to the wrong resort. We were booked in at the Busakorn Wing, which at the time of booking meant nothing to me. However, upon arrival I was delighted at our choice of accommodation and my overall opinion of the Holiday Inn chain changed dramatically. This is by far one of the most beautiful resorts we have ever stayed at - and I am hard pressed to find any fault in it. The service was outstanding, the staff were lovely, the room was tasteful and clean, the breakfast was fantastic, and the location was perfect. We were travelling with our 4 year daughter who was treated like a princess - and the pool was a hit! I would recommend this resort (the Busakorn Wing in particular) to anyone who wants a 5 star experience in the centre of Patong.

We stayed here in March 2009 for 9 nights. The location can't be beat: it's smack right in front of Patong beach, and all the shops/eats/travel agencies. It was convenient to go back to the hotel for a mid day siesta if it got too hot on the streets/beach. We booked at a rate of about 5200B, which included daily breakfast.
The breakfast had a good spread, with a different meat cut everyday (eg. honey glazed ham off the bone, lamb cutlets, beef steak etc), and the kids loved the freshly squeezed Thai orange juice. The only thing that marred our breakfast experience was the sulky lady manning the eggs station. She never smiled or greeted us in acknowlegement when we wished her good morning, and made it seem like a chore to make our sunny side ups or poached eggs. It got to be such an unpleasant experience that we gave up on eggs for the last 2 days, so we wouldn't have to request anything from her. The rest of the staff though, were friendly and gave great service.
The room was standard Holiday Inn: good sized and had everything we needed. The room was also relatively new, as the hotel was renovated a couple of years ago after the tsunami. We also viewed a Busakorn wing room, but decided on the room in the main wing, as we felt the layout made the room feel bigger. The Busakorn wing room was done up more nicely, and looked/felt more luxurious, but since we were travelling with 2 young children, we felt that the additional charges would be better spent on elephant rides instead of better room decor and more luxury!
The main pool was OK, but usually crowded. The Busakorn wing pool was much quieter, and easier to do laps in. We had checked with the front desk if we could use the Busakorn pool if we stayed in the main wing, and were told we could.
The kids' pool however, was quite treacherous in ourr opinion. There were no steps, and the you entered the pool via a tiled slope. This was quite slippery, and our kids (a toddler and 9 year old), slipped a few time getting in and out of the pool. There is a railing there to help you, but kids don't always remember to use it!
All in all, we would definitely stay here again if we wanted to be based at Patong Beach.

34 yr. old female traveler, used points for free room.

When you walk into the lobby, it is in my opinion, jawdropping and I reguarly stay at 4 & 5 star properties. The entire hotel is gorgeous, chic, well designed, great lighting, comfy. Staff is very helpful and prompt. We were in the main wing (other wing under construction) and the rooms also probably in the top 3 well designed rooms that I've stayed at (I should follow that by saying that I typically stay at chains (Four Seasons, Ritz, Hilton, Fairmont, etc) and unfortunately for me, have not had the pleasure of staying at design hotels) so my design opinion is limited in that sense. The room was so well appointed and the bathroom equally fantastic.

The lobby has a nice koi pond bar area plus a bar that overlooks the main drag, good people watching. There are other restaurants in the hotel, but we didn't eat at any. Everything is very well designed and modern.

The hotel has a great pool, frequented by more kids than I like to see, but such is life. However, they have a huge kids pool/area which keeps many of them away. sorry, i am not a kid person (yet).

The hotel is across the street from Patong Beach, so easy access to lots of fun activites like parasailing ($30 USD - really good) and jet ski. But dirty dirty beach. This area was fun for a first time in Phuket. But if I were to go back, I would maybe move over to the nicer beaches which are not near the action. But if I went back to Patong area, I would defn. stay here. Also stayed one night at Banthai Beach Resort, also nice, see my review - maybe more reasonable, did look into what the cost was here.

My husband and two children have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Thailand. We spent 11 nights in Phuket and stayed at the Holiday Inn resort in Patong. The kids club was an absolute god send as our kids made loads of friends and played at the pools with all the kids. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed lots of good local and international cusine. The food was delicious and very good value for money. The people were friendly and very polite. The foot massage and thai massages were just so relaxing.

overall we had a lovely time and had a great holiday.
