“Pretty but Noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2006

Okay, it was "alright" we got there, waited for our room, and we were then escorted up some stairs and around a corner until we reached what we thought would be a quiet little part of the hotel. WE WERE WRONG! They're still doing renovations here, and if you like hearing BANG BANG BANG BANG at 6am, then my friend, you've come to the right place!
We also found a slippery spot at the pool, my partner went for a free ride on his backside one day, and here I was laughing and telling him to watch out, then the next day, I did the same thing in exactly the same spot. I soon realised that the concrete hadn't been cured properly and when it gets wet, it's like moss on a rock, it's bad. We told the hotel's management, they asked if either of us went to hospital...when we said no, he said he would have it fixed, 3 days later, nothing had been done.
Now on a positive note, the breakfast is FABULOUS, the food in the restuarant is a little pricey (I'm sure you europeans wouldn't think so though) but it's really good food. The rooms are well appointed and clean and the almighty LOCATION LOCATION. It's second to none, well except maybe the holiday inn which is directly across the street. It's a 30 second walk to the beach, and all the shopping begins right there!
I wont stay here again, but i will return to Phuket, it's UNREAL!!!

I visited Burasari on 2 Nov 06 for 2 nights with my boyfriend. Checked into the hotel and was given a lovely room at the Oasis Wing. Loved the environment as it was covered with lush green and smells good too. There were minor renovations to upgrade the resort, nevertheless it is good effort to improve the place.

We received great help from Chandong and Thanawan, both helps at the concierge. They recommended us places to visit and try to help us to book for Phuket Fantasea after our Phi Phi Island trip. It was a last minute booking but nevertheless, we treasure their help.

Breakfast was good with sufficient varieties. We love eating breakfast outdoor and smell of the fresh morning air.

Walking to Patong is so near. However, to enjoy the Patong beach, we got to rent the beach chair at 100 THB each. Sigh! After 30 minutes on the beach, we decided to come back to Burasari, our heaven of relaxing. Swimming at the Burasari pool is relaxing.

Overall, both my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Burasari. We came back to Malaysia feeling relaxed and we hope to stay longer next time. Thank you Burasari for making our stay a pleasant one!

Having read the great reviews on this website, I decided to book directly with the Burasari. I also emailed the hotel directly to confirm the renovations were completed and they confirmed they had finished over 2 weeks prior. Arriving at the hotel told a very different story. The ground floor on the street front is just a concrete site with continual work. I was transferred into two different suites to try and escape the noise as there was continual banging, hammer drilling and angle grinding. (this was in all areas of the hotel, not just the street front). Not being able to relax at the hotel or even go out onto the verandah because of the generator diesel fumes, I gave up on the 3rd day and asked to me moved to another hotel. Ten points to the management of the hotel because they did exactly that and put me into another hotel which was really nice and was peaceful and quiet on the renovation front.

Overall, I would not stay here again, however would suggest the hotel would be a good stay in about 6 months time.

Oh, and don’t stay at this hotel if you expect soap in the shower, a pen or piece of paper in the room or need a directory of services - they don’t have any of them at the Burasari...

  • Liked — the rooms were modern & clean
  • Disliked — the noise was terrible from renovations
  • Tips/Secrets — get it in writing that the renovations are finished, then they will have to move you if you complain

My boyfriend and I just recently returned from Phuket and we stayed at the Burasari. The hotel was lovely. There was still some constrution going on but most of Patong was having construction done, not that it really bothered us. The workers were prertty discreet and didnt get in any ones way.

The room we had was well maintained and very clean. Everything was pretty much brand new. Our room opened up into one part of the hotel pool, we also had our own relaxing area in front of the pool. We had the jacuzzi suite which didnt have a jacuzzi it had a large bath but it was ok we were satisfied either way. I didnt have to take photos of the room but I would say it most like the one of the pics i posted that i found on the net. It was a modern stylish room. I think our room was one of the lagoon wing rooms. Very nice.

Theyre were people always around the hotel always at one time or another improving the hotel polishing floors etc.
The service we had was great the staff were very friendly and happy to help us with any enquiry we had and the manager was also always around so if any problems arose he was also there.
It rained heavily one night and part of the hallway had puddles, my boyfriend told me it was because of something to do with underneath the tiles as thats his trade and he understood what was happening. He told me that theyd have to rip the tiles off and re tile to fix the problem. The next morning we saw them ripping a section tiles up, not anywhere near anyones room and by early afternoon theyd finished the retiling. In short the staff and management were pretty much on the ball about things.

The food was really good as were the drinks, we mostly ate and drank at the hotel. The pools were well maintained with people at night cleaning them and removing leaves. The buffet breakfast was good too, they had a lot of variety. We also meet some more fellow aussies who where also satisfied with the hotel and the service. In general the people in phuket are willing to help and quite friendly. Some may not have the best English but im sure that their english is better than our thai! You just have to simply what your saying. It also smart to stock up on insect repellant before going not just to the Burasari but anywhere.
There was this one incident on the first day we got there. We were eating lunch and saw a staff member walk past and he immediately stopped and called another staff over. We got up and had a look and there was a little mouse in the pool. It was like a display sort of pool. They were fixiated upon it and got it out with a net. The next few days we recieved notes saying the place was getting fumigated over a couple of days. Point being that the place was clean and the staff were on top of matter.
We had a great expirience and loved our stay at the Burasari, it is well placed athe start of the main strip of Patong, its also next to the 7-11 and ATM which proved useful. It was a great holiday

  • Liked — The location, pools, food, service and room. Fanatstic
  • Disliked — Ongoing construction, but they were discreet about it wasnt so bad
  • Tips/Secrets — GO! Had a great time, just pack the insect repellant

Hotel is right in the thick of things in Patong. Its kinda of like a little oasis in the middle of chaos! When we were there back in April, the hotel next door was being reconstructed and during the day quite noisy.

The original room the travel agent booked us into was small and not to our liking. When you opened the curtains to look out, your view was straight into the horrible hotel (other side from one being rebuilt). We asked to be moved straight away as we would not have stayed there otherwise. Thanks god they had one of the suites available and it was amazing. If you plan to stay here, YOU MUST CHOOSE A SUITE, you will regret it otherwise as the rooms to the left as you walk in to the complex are horrible and small and you will have the curtains drawn the entire time you are there. The suites have their own little coutryard/balcony and the groubd floor ones have direct access to the pool, we stayed in one of these roooms and loved it.

The staff are nice and the buffet lunch is a great deal if you dont feel like venturing out of the hotel in the heat.

We never like to stay at the same place twice, but recommend this place only if you choose the ground floor suite.

  • Liked — beautiful suite
  • Disliked — area too busy and at the time too much reconstruction which l should have expected but didnt plan for
  • Tips/Secrets — Only book the suite rooms, prferably the ground floor as has private courtyard and access to pool
