“Beautiful place and great value”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

We booked our room for two on lastminute.com so we were a bit unsure what to expect at such a cheap price (about $90 for two nights AUD). We were very happy from the minute we arrived.
The hotel is presented nicely. On arrival we were served a refreshment while they sorted our details. They carried our bags to our room for us. We then ordered room service as we were so tired and it was actually the best Pad Thai we had in our whole stay in Thailand.
The room was just what we needed and more. It was also right by the pool and breakfast.

Small downsides:
It looked like the shampoo and shower gel had not been replaced.
The breakfast was farely basic. (However you can buy really good cooked breakfasts).
Was about a 15 minute walk to Patong, but that is actually not that bad walking downhill.

Honestly I would definitely stay here again and I reccomend it. :)

I have jast returned from a wonerful trip to Patong, we stayed in the Ananthara Pool Villa and had a great stay, we did have a number of minnor issues and problems with the room but as soon as we let the staff know of the issue, the problems were solved within a hour or so, in fact the staff went completly out of there way to make or visit very special.I was dealing with Mr Chinorot who was completly professional on any issues we had and highly recomend anyone to deal with him.The room its self was lovely with its own pool area and two very large rooms with ensuites on both + a separate toilet and very large kitchen ,dinning and living area with a massive court yard with pool ,sunlounges and pagola with table for out door dinning .The room is situated up on top of a hill some distance from the hotel with nice veiws, the wlak up is quite steep but the hotel gave us a scooter to use to go back and forth from the room also if we needed to carry more than one they have a car to pick you up and drop you off during the day so no walking up the hill.
I highly recomend to stay in this room type of which they ony have one.
There are better villas in Patong as this one is starting to need mantanace done on it but I highly recomend this room type for the price you pay and the service received from the staff who I can not say enough about.*****WONDERFUL*****

Me and my family arrived this hotel after we landed in Phuket, and we were pretty tired from an intensive trip in the north of Thailand, and we stayed there for 2 nights.

When we arrived and handed the voucher to the secretary, he called the manager to tell us that they don't have an available room for 5 (or 2 rooms for a couple and 3 kids) as we ordered and as it mentioned in the voucher. The manager suggested to transfer us to the "Family Villa" which contains two king size bed, we agreed and compromised for a king size bed for the 3 kids.
After a long and exhausting check in, a guy with a tuk tuk came to take us to the villa!!
It turned out that the villa is up on the mountain and that we have to drive there and from there and we have to call reception everytime we want to get down and to see if this tuk tuk driver is available!!!

It was frustrating but we moved on because we were really tired.

after an afternoon sleep, we wanted to get down from the villa. in the villa there was no wired phone, so reception gave us a cellular phone which was BROKEN - so we couidn't call and we needed to get down on our own (a 15 minutes of a very unpleasent walking down the mountain).

At the reception they told us they will bring us a new cellphone- that never happend.

We barely succeed to manage with this conditions, but when we arrived at the second night we had a surprise- there were NO WATER coming through the pipes!! we still had no phone so we got down ourselfs and called the maintenance guy, who turned on the water again, but there was an new problem - there were no hot water and the water were dirty with mud.

After we argued with the manager and employees they decided to give us another room (for 5 persons) and there the water werent hot but they were cleaner.

On checkout we talked to the manager, who wasnt sorry at all, and decided to "make it up for us" by discounting something like 1% of the deal- EMBARRASSING!!!

Also, the distance from the Patong beach and Bazar is 10 minutes driving.

We Will Never Get Back TO This Place Again!

Visited my favorite country yet again in Septemer 2011 with 3 friends. I chose club bamboo because the reviews seemed ok and the info and photos on their website looked good. Price was also a factor and for around 300 Aussie dollars for 7 nights accommodation I figured we couldn't lose, right?

Ok, let's get down to business.

Location - The location of the hotel is ok, and I mean ok. It's a 5 minute tuk tuk right to get to
Bangla Rd or the beach and it will cost you 200 baht. Or if you like the motorbike taxis it will cost you 60 baht. The walk would take 20 mins easy and there's nothing really to look at on the way. This hotel is inland but there are a few convenience stores and places to eat all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Walk out and turn right.

Facilities - I am very easy going with what I get in Thailand. If I stay three star I don't expect much. Same for 4 star. I didn't expect much from this hotel, my hopes weren't high but I have to say I was still a little disappointed. The photos on the website are very clever and were more than likely taken at the peak of the hotels time which was probably in the mid 90's. If you don't like stairs don't stay here, everywhere is at least a walk down a flight of stairs, the up a flight of stairs and then down another flight of stairs.

The pool area is not too bad and it has a nice waterfall flowing into the pool, it is fairly small but comfortable. The restaurant serves the standard Thailand hot breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausages with fruit and I found it good although it was getting a bit old after a few days with no variety.

Rooms - we had all booked bungalow suites but had to wait 2 days in jacuzzi rooms because they had double booked us, no big deal for me but be aware that they didn't seem to be organized at this hotel. The jacuzzis are just small spa baths in the jacuzzi suites and the bathrooms are standard. The room size is ok but the rooms have no good views. The bungalow suits were probably the pick of the place and were a great size although they vary greatly in size and style between each other. One of my friends had problems with his air conditioning and lost it for 2 days, he wasn't impressed. My other friend lost power for a day and was also annoyed. The maintenance staff did their best to fix the problem but the reception staff didn't seem to care. We all found the showers to be boiling hot or freezing cold and all had minimal water pressure. The rooms all had tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge with mini bar.

Staff - The restaurant, poolside, housekeeping and maintenance staff were great. They were all very nice, police and helpful. The reception staff were fairly stand offish, not very polite and seemed disinterested most of the time. Actually, the only time we got anything out of a receptionist was when we booked a tour with a different tour company and she complained that we didn't book through the hotel!

Overall? I'd probably say that for the money there are plenty of other places to stay in Patong/Phuket that are better equipped and in a better location than this hotel. My impression of this place is that it was built and run by a foreigner
who had a great vision and the skills to run this hotel. He does not run the hotel anymore and it seems like absolutely no work or upkeep has gone into this place for at least 5 - 7 years.

We have just finished up our stay at club bamboo in patong we stayed here a total of 5 nights,we only booked 2 nights and extened to 3 nights before heading to phi phi island then returned for 2 more nights!! All the photos on here are what it is...it's deffinaltly not 5 star luxury hotel but it is if ur on a budget!!! yeah the rooms are a bit dated and rough but the breakfast/dining, the pool area and the friendly helpfull staff all make up for it!! We arrived with not having booked anything and club bamboo did it all for us and a great price, we hired a scooter for 200 baht a day which is a must do saves all the hassles/money of taxis and tuk tuks. also means u can travel to some great beaches!club bamboo also have a free shuttle to the beach that runs daily and also has free wifi!!i would highly recomend this to all ages traveling either on ur own or as a couple who like to feel as though there still staying some where nice but not having to pay through the roof for it!!

Room Tip: I would defanitly pay the lil extra to get an updated room!!!
