We have stayed twice at the Horizon Patong. Once in July 2012 and july 2011. On both occasions it was great staying there. It is in a good central location, it has simple but clean rooms, the pools are great, the breakfast is good-plenty of choice, and it is affordable.
Fist time with out kids, second time with a 12 & 10 yr old. Had adjoining rooms second time and that worked well. And again it was a reasonable price. We managed to get three rooms in a row for other family members to.
We had friends staying just up the road at a much larger and more expensive hotel and their experience was a lot worse, they visited us on several occasions and commented how much better this place was.
Its not a massive hotel, but its large enough and they have pretty good facilities. The gyms satisfactory, about as good as you need for a holiday.
They make a mean mojito in the Bars there (if you give them a vague description of what you want). The tattoo shop across the road from the hotel entry is good too, if your into that thing. Aussine tattoo.
Overall I would recommend this hotel, it isnt 5 star, but it isnt charging it either. Its a nice, simple, & clean Thai hotel. I would stay there again.
