Overall a very nice place to stay if you like to be away from the action
(Patong Beach) but close enough to join in..
The Rooms are well appointed, with stunning views of the bay.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of items available for all nationalities.
Unfortunately they close the buffet already at 10h30.
The restaurants (all of them!) are very good too, especially “La Gritta”
(Italian) where we had our first night dinner and our discounted*
3 course Fare well dinner – (*nice touch from management),
modern Italian cuisine straight on the beach .
Don’t miss the Royal Thai Dinner Buffet on Sundays or the seafood
barbeque evenings... a bliss!!
Food in general is excellent and not to expensive either. We got
hooked on the caeser salad at the pool-side.
A nice touch is the fruit skewers and the scented cold towels at the pool.
Staff is very very friendly and it seems nothing is to much of a problem..
and everything is done with a smile!
I have only 2 complaints: WIFI should be free and the pool is to warm....
Anyway : we will be back!
Tip: get yourself a scooter (between 200 and max 300 BT)
in order to avoid the dreadful stairs up to reception area
and for easy access to town (for shopping & playing)

We stayed at the Amari Coral between the 5th-15th of May, from the 1st minute there we loved our stay.
We were welcomed with cool drinks and a cold towel which was sheer bliss in the heat! The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and spoke good English. Then for the real treat, we were shown to our room, it was lovely, the bathroom was a little small but more importantly the view was just absolutely stunning, we were literally 5 meters from the sandy private beach!
The room was very clean, modern looking, the bed was huge, very comfortable, it had a old style TV in the room, but who cares, I didn't travel over 6000 miles to look at the TV!! It had a mini bar etc, and 3 free bottles of water per day, plus a random fruit, bouquet of flowers every now and again!
The breakfast was included with the room, otherwise this would cost about 500 bht per person (about £10) which is a lot so make sure you book with breakfast included, because its worth it! Everything you could possibly want was here, you could help yourself to as much or little you wanted, I was never disappointed.
The restaurants were also very nice, but a little expensive, we occasionally ate by the pool, a pizza costing about 300 bht(£6). There was 2 pools, both were very clean, pretty quite, with drinks and food on hand if needed. There was entertainment on at specific times in one of the pools, but this was never over the top to disturb anyone, also the band popped down every now and then to play a few songs which was nice.
The hotel is located to the south of pattong beach, now this i thought was great, it was out the way, but not in the middle of nowhere!a 10 min walk and you were in town, on the way back add an extra 5 mins as it had a hill to climb, its not too bad, but you may want to get a tuk tuk to get up it, these cost 200 bht (£4) from anywhere in the town centre or just the bottom of the hill, so i suggest you try it once, then you know for yourself as it costs the same for the tuk tuk anywhere!
The wireless broadband wasnt free, but this didn't really bother me, i just used the free wii fii in the bars we drank in, that really was the only thing not perfect, overall i loved my time there, and i would most definitely go back if I get the chance.

An undiscovered gem! In my travels, one of Thailand's best kept secrets! Extremely good value. Gracious, charming hosts & a TRULY spectacular setting. The breakfast buffet leaves any international traveller spoilt for choice. The resort's website doesn't begin to show the delights of this marvellous retreat. (Scroll thru the 'gallery' pics - this hotel is as good as, if not better than the pics - really!). 5 mins by 'tuk tuk' to heart of Patong or a scenic stroll when its cool. Elegant public areas & great poolside service. Our deluxe room very spacious, excellent block out curtains, fastidious housekeeping & piles of spotless white towels. Unrivalled view of the private jetty & sunset in the distance. Waves lap the beach literally 3 strides away. Unobtrusive beachside massage, & thankfully no hawkers. 11/10! Absolutely everything & more than I could possibly have wanted. (Australians complain about the hard beds in Thailand but I loved the massive, firm kingsize bed that I slept in here). Can't wait to be back! Denise, Perth, Western Australia, May 2010.

We had the most wonderful time at this fantastic hotel. The staff were helpfull and friendly and the room (delux) was all you would expect from a high class hotel. We had food in the hotel most evenings, although some people commented that it was expensive we thought it was fantastic value for money. Patong town was O.K. but we were very glad we were slightly away from all the noise. We will be returning, next time we will also try the Amari at Chang mai. You cant go wrong booking this hotel.

I stayed here, a solo female traveler and felt very safe! This is a beautiful hotel, pools are inviting, rooms are clean and the staff was very attentive. I utilized the transportation upon booking and the car was there on time, clean and a safe drive. The hotel area does have hills, so if walking on unstable, hilly areas is not good for you then this is not for you. It’s an easy walk into town. I felt very safe walking around shopping and dining. The only time I didn’t was in the evening on the “bar scene street”. The hotel is on the edge of town so you don’t get any evening noise. Breakfast buffet was great. The only issue I had was a lack of service at the lobby bar, I was ignored and the only one there. The lobby is beautiful and looks out to the water, the check-in/out process was easy and accurate. The cold towels are a treat!

This Hotel was fantastic. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. When we got back from a day of diving they would take all our heavy dive gear straight to our room. The pool ares were very quiet and the pool was like a warm bath. The location is away from the noise so was great to get away from all the hustle and bustle.Loved Phuket but will probably try Koa Lak as probably better for Scuba Diving. Met some great people here so will be back at some stage.

ACBR's location on a headland at the far south corner of Patong beach is in many ways a plus point - the view, privacy and the trees... However, the humidity and high temperature really put us off walking to town most days. So the only choice left for us was the 200-baht-a-ride tuk tuk service, which is a complete rip-off but we gradually learnt to accept that it's the standard price in Phuket. Given the the boutique-ish size of the hotel, I was a little disappointed that they don't provide a complimentary shuttle service.

Our room, a ground-floor deluxe room (thanks to a free upgrade, again!) is pleasantly furnished, and has a good size balcony with a day bed. The recreational facilities (pools, gym etc) are adequate but nothing to write home about. The Thai food wasn't impressive at all but we had the MOST DELICIOUS PIZZA ever this side of Rome at La Gritta, a truly magnificent restaurant in its own right.

Outside of the hotel, I would recommend the following restaurants/cafes:

1) Deng Cafe - 500 baht or £10 will be enough for a full meal for two including drinks.
2) Sweet Restaurant - clean and very reasonably priced (also try Tower Massage under the same management just round the corner- no hanky-panky stuff, just good old Thai massage at 200 baht/£4 a pop so please remember to tip the ladies!)
3) Baan Rim Paa - the venerable Thai fine dining restaurant on the northernmost end of Patong. Very expensive by local standard, but the food and service are rather good, and the unique selling point is definitely the location - right on top of a cliff.
4) Roma on Soi Post Office, owned by a very friendly Italian gentleman, is worth a try if you can't be bothered to get to La Gritta.
5) Chic Bar in the Royal Paradise Complex, is a trendy gay bar with ever smiling staff and well-priced drinks. When all the bars are closed at 2am, head to Galaxy (gay friendly) or Hollywood (on Bangla Road, the main drag).
6) Fuji, in JungCeylon Complex, is an excellent Japanese restaurant serving 1st-class fares and very refreshing drinks (try the different 'frosts').
