“No clue about the hotel but the SPA WAS AMAZING!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2009

We didn't even stay at the hotel but had been told by others that the spa was the best kept secret in Phuket. First of all the views are from the hillside overlooking the ocean are so spectacular it's worth the price of admission alone. Then the service was first class plus the fact that the treatments are in private bungalows and in our case we even had a private jacuzzi filled with your choice of various oils (or in our case milk!) and you have just an amazing experience that you will never forget and of course the price is just unbeatable. For nearly 4 hours we paid about $400 US... for 2!! As if that's not enough, they pick you up and drive you back to your hotel for free!!

Me and husband have just come back from a 10 day stay in the Amari Coral Beach, and can say how happy we were we chose this hotel. Patong, don't get me wrong, is colourful, wild, exciting, but also we needed somewhere to chill out a little bit. The Amari is situated about a 10 min walk, or a 200 baht tuk tuk, to where the restuarants and bars start on the beach front so you can escape the noise and madness!
We booked a deluxe room to stay in and as soon as we arrived they upgraded us to a suite. The staff were all very friendly and spoke good English too. If you can afford it I definately recommend the suites as they are very spacious, a massive bed, stunning views over the sea, sofa area to relax in, an indoor lounger that overlooks the sea, an outdoor balcony that overlooks the sea, a reasonably sized bathroom, and a large wardrobe. The only thing that we could have done with was maybe more cupboard space to put folded up items in, but if thats the only thing I can fault with the room, it aint that bad!! The maids came to clean and tidy every day, and bring us fresh fruit too. They too were very polite, and if you ever needed anything you only had to ask.
We made it to breakfast everyday which starts at around 6.30 to 10.30am. It was excellent! they had everything you could think of- eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, toasts, different sweet or savoury breads/ nuts and seeds, sushi, LOADS!! They even had soya milk!! There are 2 lovely ladies that cook you eggs as well to exactly how you like them.
We stayed most days by the smaller pool, which can get busy. We stayed in the wet season and most of the sun lounger were usually taken up by 9.30am so am sure it must be trickier to get a bed in high season. The food we ate at lunch time here was a little pricey, but the food was excellent. If it meant sweating in the sun walking into the town or staying by the pool, i'd definatley stay by the pool every time!! We ate Caeser salads(about 310 bahts) Beach burger- which was massive (310 bahts) fries with crab guacamole (about 180 bahts). The drinks are also a little expensive so we just bought some from the local family mart and bought those to the pool instead.
Unfortunatly we didnt eat at the hotel in the evening, but if its anything like the food we ate during the day I'd say it would be pretty amazing and very good portions. We usually wandered into Patong on the night and the places I can recommend are The Savoey, Nickys Handlebar, Grill n Grill, Molly Malones/ Scruffy Murphys, and of course the madness of Patong Walking Street!!
If anyone has any questions please don't hessitate to ask...... its a lovely hotel, really good for families also, and your going to really enjoy yourself!!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights for our honeymoon from 7 to 12 April 09. We chose this hotel due to the reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. We loved the choice of 2 pools, the rooms were clean and well appointed and the breakfast was excellent. I also loved the way they provided a beach bag for you to take by the pool or go to the beach with. It was free of charge providing you returned it to your room before check out.

We had booked and paid for a deluxe room (expecting a separate bath and shower which was how I read it on the internet) but in fact it was a shower in a bath. We weren't fussed by this. We didn't eat in the restaurants due to the pricey nature of the menus, but did make use of the pool bar menu for lunch on most days. At night, we would walk or tuk tuk into patong and choose a thai restuarant - all of which were really nice. One night, we took a tuk tuk to kata beach and ate at Capannina (an Italian Restaurant) in a little lane across from Kata Beach Resort. It was well worth the effort. Really nice traditional Italian pasta and pizza, and breaks up the thai food a bit.

This is our third time at this hotel. In the past it was really a nice place to go. If you needed bright lights a noise a short tuk tuk ride ( 2kms) and your into Patong. If you wanted a nice quiet setting to relax, the beach in front of the hotel was wonderful. Now the local beach traders have discovered any easy way to make money by hiring out jet skis, which is ok. BUT it is not so ok when there are 12 kawasaki jet skis chasing each other around and making the beach sound like formula one Grand Prix circuit. Sorry Amari , I know it is not your fault and you still have a wonderful Hotel but it will be our last time there.

My partner and i had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned daily and most days the staff would return to our room to see if we needed anything and would then spray our room with insect repelent. The rooms were beautiful and the view from our room was amazing the sea was a stone throw away from our balcony. The food was beautiful and the view from were we where sitting was so romantic looking out at the sea. I will definetly be returning to this hotel.

This was a return trip for us as we enjoyed staying at the hotel so much the year before so we returned. When l go on holiday l like to stay somewhere that l can relax with a nice view and good amenities which this hotel supplies. A short walk into town when you wanted to go shopping or to have dinner.
