“simply the best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

Being a frequent visitor as its my hideaway this hotel is simply the best in patong because;
• Staff very friendly and helpful.
• All rooms got a sea view and a balcony.
• Beach is meters away.
• Private beach.
• Private jetty with a delightful coffee shop.
• Many fine restaurants.
• Morning buffet is 5 stars and location is 7 stars.
• Being on a hill you have to be a bit fit to go up and down.
• Can walk to the main beach from the hotel beach during low tide.
• The only issue is the walking distance from the hotel to down town is 10 minutes and when your returning its up hill. a tuk tuk will charge you 200 baht.
• 2 beautiful pools.
treat your loved ones to a nice romantic stay at this hotel and trust me you wont regret it.

Room Tip: select superior rooms being up hill the deluxe are down at the beach meaning you have lots of stairs...

Service: Every single member of staff here was friendly and helpful. The rooms and public areas were cleaned regularly and always to a high standard.

Hotel: The rooms were large and modern with a great view. The jetty is lovely to walk along and see the tropical fish in the sea below.

Food: The food was amazing - we usually like to eat outside of the hotels but nowhere else in Patong compared to the standard or choice of food here and the price was competitive. Most nights there was a theme with live cooking stations serving fresh food. Breakfasts were delicious, massive selection of food and again all great quality. I haven't found a better Pad Thai yet.

Location: The hotel is within walking distance of Patong and is situated at a quiet end so perfect for getting away from the craziness of Bangla Road but near enough to visit it and go for walks along the beach etc.

We stayed for 8 nights at the end of our Thailand trip at the Amari and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodation. They only had one apartment complex open due to renovations, but the service and friendliness of the resort was superb. Apparently the resort has more than one pool and restaurant and the renovations would provide easier access to other areas of the resort. However we were more than happy with the restaurant and pool we had.

Given that the whole resort apart from our building/pool/restaurant was undergoing major renovations, with even more accommodation being built on the hill behind the resort, you really wouldn't know that construction was going on. Sure, when you arrive at the resort the construction is obvious but once at the accommodation, it was peaceful and quiet.

The restaurant was awesome with daily specials and buffets to entice. The breakfast spread was just amazing and has to be seen to be believed. The resort is right on the beach but the tide is very high and when it goes out there are quiet a few rocks so be careful if you go in the water.

All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful given that only a section of the resort was in operation. The service could not be faulted nor the quality and varied nature of the cuisine.

Highly recommend the Amari and no doubt the renovations would have been completed by now, go take a look! :)

I liked the hotel, spa is great the service was not bad and all that... but If you planning to stay at Amari cos it has a beach then look for something else and also if u wanna enjoy the real Patong/Bangla road then I wouldn't suggest Amari. Cos its not as close as it looks and taxi charges you 200 bhats one way.

Ideally located just a 10 min walk (downhill) from the main hustle and bustle of Patong beach. Very quiet location, but close enough to walk to Patong for shopping, bars, entertainment etc.

We originally booked another hotel in Patong but didn't like it, and moved to the Amari. The staff were very friendly and attentive as soon as we stepped foot into the resort. From the very start we were impressed, and knew we had made the right decision changing hotels.

The Amari arranged a car for us to go back to our previous hotel, pack our things, and bring us back. There was a biut of a mix up with a Tuk Tuk driver (our fault), but due to this, the Amari gave us a free room upgrade!

We loved relaxing by the pool each day, and being able to see the activity on Patong Beach at the same time. The staff were super friendly, and they all greeted you from the bar/restaurant staff, to the gardeners. Each morning at breakfast we were greeted by name, which made us feel very welcome and special. It's the small touches that make a stay special, and the Amari certainly knows how to do it.

I wouldn't hesitate in staying at the Amari again, and have been telling all of our friends and family to stay there. I can't wait for my next visit,

Service at check-in was excellent, I was even walked to my room and my bag was delivered promptly which was appreciated. You would be hard pressed not to get a view of the ocean from this hotel. It was wonderful to wake in the morning listening to the sound of the ocean and the birds singing. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were spot on, big and fluffy.

I really liked the bathroom, it was on the small side but very cleverly laid out to maximise space. Inside the great pressured shower there was a small bench with accessories in a lovely leather box and towel racks with towels so you could dry yourself immediately. It was nice not to have to step out and wet the floor mat for a change. Great idea. From the bathroom you could see through to the ocean but did have a blind if you wanted privacy.

In the mini bar was soft drinks and beer not much else. There were snacks, 4 complimentary bottled water, mouth wash, mosquito repellant and condoms! for purchase. Mosquitos were not a problem. Tea and coffee, with CoffeeMate as your milk.

Dinner at the International restaurant was ok. I had duck with pineapple red curry and was what they called mildly volcanic, I'll go with the volcanic, that's just personal taste. The duck was tough and disappointing, but the pineapple was sensational. Champagne by the glass was disappointing also, of the two one was not available and the other poured bubbles then tasted and looked absolutely flat. Drink service embarrassed me after they poured half a glass and went to top it up with a fresh bottle. I asked for a fresh new glass as it looked and tasted flat, then went off to have a chat about me to a fellow worker. A chef's tasting plate of dessert was two bowls of extremely sweet goo with deep fried banana something or other, which was left largely untouched.

Would I come back again? Even though I was more than happy with the accommodation, I felt the Restaurant let it down, so probably not. There are plenty of dining choices in downtown Phuket, but on this occasion I wanted specifically to eat at the hotel. If this was not the case, then yes I would stay again.

Our family stayed at the Amari Hotel at Patong beach in Phuket during December 2013 and had a fantastic time . We have travelled extensively around the word and have not met friendlier staff any where else. The breakfasts served were outstanding ,the rooms were extremely comfortable and service great.
The hotel is situated approximately 1 to 2 Kms from the action and the noise of the main Patong beach area . This is ideal , we would not have liked to stay in the town with all the action constantly going on around one the whole night.
Our only gripe is the cost of drinks and food at the hotel , I think that this would only pertain to us coming from South Africa have a weak rand as our currency .
Should we ever return to Phuket we would definitely go back to this resort.
The Remmingtons

Room Tip: Ask for a sea front view towards the southern part of the resort.
