We love staying at the Novotel - easy walking distance to Jung Ceylon, the beach & main street shopping, but no noise at night. The view from the 3 swimming pools (an elevated position looking over the beach) is wonderful. The 3 restaurants offer a variety of food(Thai, Seafood & buffets) and the quality was excellent. Although there are some stairs, we feel its a good way to get a little exercise & the shuttle from the gate to reception is an option if you're tired or have a lot of parcels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the pool -it's more convenient.

Went to this hotel and the people there are extremely nice and beautiful in character!!! High ground location overlooking the beach and the sea with beautiful sunset to catch everyday from the room balcony. The spa has a really nice receptionist who is also very experience and the services are great. 2 thumbs up!!

Hotel was expected, nothing over the top, nothing too bad either, i only found the pool very small compared to the pictures, and there were alot of people in the pool on any given day, location was close enough to the beach if you use their shuttle service, otherwise this hotel is great value for money, the only thing i did not really like was that there were no lifts as the rooms are sprawling over the hill and its pretty steep to walk, we had to walk 8 flights of stairs to our room.. not for people with mobility problems. guest services were friendly and helpful.
Wifi was terrible as connection keeps breaking, and when it rained heavily on one day we were there, the hotel had a power shutdown.
Overall value for money

We had 11 nights here in July. The location is good. just on the edge of Patong town & away from the busy nosier part of town. Arrival & checkin was very friendly & very efficient which was welcoming in a foreign destination. The room's we were given was pleasant & beautifully decorated on arrival. Dissapointingly the small balcony overlooked powerlines & the entrance to the hotel & not unfortunately the 'sea view' we had booked. This was a letdown for our much awaited holiday. When booking I would ensure you are not placed in the rooms below the pool area as they did not have the beautiful sea view of other areas of the resort. We unfortunately had flights cancelled & returned for 1 night & had a room with great view just below the lobby (301). While the beds are hard when you first sit on them they are very comfortable to sllep on which surprised us!
We had 2 days when the smell of sewage was quite over whelming when we left our room - apparently some plumbing problems!
Dont under estimate the stairs. While great for exercise & wearing off the calories they were tiring in the heat. Do not consider if you have any physical disabilities including age, limiting mobility.
Staff were friendly throughout our stay & assisted with anything we may have needed.
Breakfast was good with a variety to suit all tastes & well worth including in your package.
We did eat several evening meals at the resort. The Thai restaurant was always very quiet & gave good service & quality of food. The buffet dinners were average & better food & value for money can be had elsewhere. We found a small family restaurant about 200m's away around the corner (Restaurant No9) which had great food & service for little cost. The seafood restaurant across the road also had good food when wanting something a bit more upmarket.
Across the road from the entrance was a friendly seven eleven where you can purchase snacks & drinks as needed.
Access to the markets & shopping is a 10-15 minute walk or tuktuk's are available at the gate when needed. We did use the resort driver service which may be a bit more expensive but was comfortable & safer than we experienced from some other 'taxi's' we used on the streets. All part of the experience I guess!
Check out the Central Festival shopping centre if wanting something other than the markets & jungceylon. We found this better shopping if that is what you like. We took driver from resort & phoned when finished to pickup.
Overall we had a good holiday. The resort was clean & friendly but looking a bit tired overall. I think this is a great place for families with older children/teenagers but as a couple looking for a bit more luxury I would consider another resort next time.

Room Tip: Do not book rooms below the pool area where you will be looking at buildings & powerlines.

I chose Novotel for our Phuket stay but it seems close enough to Patong (nice enough walk) but still far enough away that you weren't pestered on the street to buy this or that....

The rooms were a good size and clean. We were staying with our kids and were lucky enough to get ajoining rooms. That gave the adults privacy but the kids peace of mind that we were just through the door....

They offer a shuttle bus to get you to town - this saves you on tuk tuk fees, just make sure you book it with reception. We did eat with them a few times but also filled the fridge with drinks and snacks from the local family mart. Oh and make sure you use the local laundries - they are all cheap and the service is excellent. No need to use the hotel's service. Breakfast was nice - but after 4 days our kids gave it a miss for a day....

The pools are great - with 3 there is one to suit everyone... The beach is nice but you will need to walk a few hundred metres to get a deck chair. No real issue - the exercise is good. Prior to booking the common theme I read on Trip Advisor was complaints about the hill Novotel is on. Having since gone back to Phuket and stayed elsewhere - that was booked prior to Novotel and had I realised Novotel was as good as it was I would never have booked elsewhere - it is on a hill for a reason, enjoy the view!!!!! The other hotel I stayed at was closer to Patong but no way near as fabulous as Novotel. The whole time I was there I was telling my friend we should have booked the Novotel!!!!

If I was to travel back to Phuket I would stay here - no questions asked.....

A beautiful property ..Clean rooms with great sea-view. The breakfast buffet had a decent spread..conveniently located yet away from the crowd. Its on a hill so that can tire you out...or you wait for shuttle service to take you around the resort.
All in all a refreshing resort..loved it.
