Got to know tis hotel via groupon...find it really worth it! Got the deal 100plus for 4d3n. Staffs are friendly...always filled w smiles everywhere we go n see dem.

Lucky enough to the rm near the lobby blk. The first impression of the rm is fantastic. Super nice! The rm service is gd Too. Really clean.

I find the breakfast nt bad. On the last day whereby we need to checkout at 645am due to the early flight while the breakfast is only ready by 630am. We talked to the staffs n they let us in ard 615am to grab some of the food. Even assist us when we need some butters n tea.

However it's located at the end of patong beach. It's still possible to walk to those nitelife area...if lazy..tuk tuk will cost 200 bhats.

Overall great experience w sea sun sand ;)

We stayed here on 5/09 - 13/09 based on a Travelzoo special. It is a well located hotel, in that you can walk or tuk tuk easily to the heart of Patong (and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel).

The hotel fitout itself is quite nice, however it seems apparent that the renovation works were done in distinct phases (design inconsistencies). The hotel is comprised of a number of disparate buildings, interconnected by lifts and walkways. There are some nice touches, such as a tower with light features that progress through different colours, which synchronise with light features based on one of the complex walls. The concept of the pool (structure of pontoon bridges and shallow pools leading up to a main pool and wading pool) is quite cool. No signage (except in the lobby, when you still know where you are) is placed anywhere to indicate to guests where they are in relation to other buildings. This is particularly difficult when trying to find facilities such as the gym that lack signage. As indicated in other reviews, staff are friendly enough, but unable to answer anything other than very basic queries about the hotel.

We had a mix up with our room and were allocated a queen room as opposed to a twin share on the first night. The staff were reluctant to fix this error and allocate us the room we had booked, so we had to wait until the following day to be moved to the room we had requested.

My key issue was with the breakfast buffet service - it was pretty much inedible. Very few options available, and the food on offer was not up to standard. We opted to eat outside instead.

The spa facilities are excellent - great massage, lovely surrounds.

All in all, a nice resort given we got the holiday on sale, but small things (signage, attention to detail) and better staff management and training would make this a better hotel.

Room Tip: It is worth paying the extra money and getting a pool access room - the pools are fantastic, and hav...

Sea Sun Sand is located in the heart of Patong and while it is a short walk away to the beach, you'll still need to take a taxi or tuck tuck to where the action is at night.
When we first arrived, we weren't thrilled that we had to wait a few hours for our room and even after the wait, we were given a room that required 3 elevators and a bit of a walk to get to. Despite the inconvenience, the service was polite and as accommodating as they could be although there was no  compensation offered for the wait.
The room was decent, clean, but there was still grime on the bathroom floors and faucets. The staff were however, kind to leave the swans and rose petals on the bed for us as it was our honeymoon.
We came across three little Geikos in our room during our stay which we had to capture and set free. As well, there were the occasional little bugs that would make their way into the room.
The room came with a love seat and king size bed which lit up a neat neon blue color underneath with a flick of a switch. The balcony had no view although it was tranquil.
The pool area was very cool, offering a bar, towel service and an incredible view atop a high hill.
Breakfast was good, there was plenty of variety and very good coffee and staff were always smiling.
Our experience here was decent but considering how many options there are in Patong, I'd consider another hotel for your stay.

Stayed at this resort for 3D2N for SGD69 per pax under a Groupon voucher.
Would not recommend to pay anything more other than the price stated above.

The resort, though very large, has a poor location. about 15-20mins walk from the heart of the attractions (restaurants, shops, pubs etc). it has only 3 timings for shuttle service to the mall. unless u don't mind walking or paying 200 baht to take the cab, the location is alright.

the front of the resort looks really small. simple lobby. but the total land area is large, as most of the rooms are concentrated at the back. nice poolside and balconies. however, poor planning of space. we had to take 3 separate lifts to get to our room. each lift with quite a distance apart.

also, staff are not well-trained. if asked a question beyond their scope, they just get frantic. also, we were allocated to an occupied room, took them about 30mins to resolve the issue, with a rather unapologetic attitude.

well, the resort is beautiful, just that this assets are not well-utilized.

I managed to grab the promotion in www.groupon.com.my, 4 days 3 nights staying at this hotel only at RM499 or roughly 5000 baht. The room pretty great, the pool views great too. The buffet breakfast came with variety of food and tasted not bad. Location quite ok, just a bit further from jungceylon shopping mall and bangla road. Approximately 1.6km. They provide shuttle bus from hotel to jungceylon shopping mall at 10am, 2pm and 5pm. We took the shuttle bus twice and then walk back to the hotel, it took around 20mins. We can enjoy the breeze in patong beach side while walking back to the hotel. Is great to spend holidays in Phuket with the comfortable staying at Sea Sun Sand Resort & Spa. The hotel room just look exactly the same with the website images. New and clean yet comfortable bed. Is a wonderful trip anyway.

We stayed in the resort during our recent 4D3N trip in Phuket from 18 to 21 August 2012.
The choice was in consideration of Groupon Deal for MYR498 for a 3 nights stay with airport transfer. Which I thought the price is a bargain for such 4 star new hotel, tucked in the end of Patong Road.

I had a bit of problem before my stay, trying to get an confirmation for my booking, mind you I have e-mailed few times and called the resort close to 8 times via long distance, and could not receive a confirmation for my booking date. It made me wonder at that point of time whether I made a right decision to purchase the Groupon deal. And yes, I must say the hotel staff’s attitude and mannerism were rather unpolished.

Apart from the above, the other pro and cons are :-
What I don’t like
1) Well, upon my check in, I found some saw dust on the bed’s hheadrest, could was rather unusual, but after much complain, they clean it up.
2)The weird timing of one way free shuttle of going to Jungcelong shopping mall at 10, 2pm and 5pm, and on return you either pay THB200 to get back on taxi/tuk tuk OR walk 1.6KM
3)The room is thinly renovated, where you can hear the room next door
4)The house keeping NOT on schedule, where we ended up staying our ¾ of the time during the day.
5)The hostess at buffet breakfast was rather rude, when I request for coffee like I did during the first day, I was instructed rudely to pour my own drink when she pointed the to the coffee pot which was placed in the corner of the restaurant.
6)The late departure my transport to airport, and lack of notification by the hotel

Overall, the hotel doesn’t seem to be ready for business.

What I like: -
To be fair, what I like is the Orchid veranda, is the most charming, the eco team the green, not forgetting the nice pool.
