Patong Beach is a lovely spot with deck chairs everywhere for hire and people selling food and various items. It can be littered at times as a result of the prevailing winds or after torrential rain. On a nice day it can be very pleasent relaxing on the beach and enjoying the warn water. In Phuket if a red flag is on the beach it indicates that there is a rip in that area.

“Busy beach”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

A lot going on all the time, noisy and crowded for the most part. Main Street very busy and one way which makes driving round a bit of a chore. Too much hassle from street side vendors trying to sell you a suit. Best bit about it are the nice little cafes and bars where you can sit and people watch. Much better beaches elsewhere but if you like the nightlife this is the place.

“One stop shopping”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

This beach is not picture perfect, but it has everything you need. Lawn chairs with umbrella for a 100 baht a day. Plus the attendant will watch over your things for you while you're in the ocean. He'll also bring you food, beer, sodas, suntan lotion, anything you need. Vendors will pass by with sunglasses and t-shirts for sale. You can get a massage on the beach. You can rent any kind of beach toy like boogie boards, kayaks, surfboards. You can go parasailing, You can ride on a banana boat. It's busy. It's commerce. It's active. It's cheap. It's fun. If you want seclusion and more privacy, head to Karon Beach or Kata Beach.

“Horrible horrible horrible.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

You really cannot call this a beach, a rubbish tip maybe.......the rubbish is everywhere, when it rains it is worse. It smells like a sewer, is brown in colour and no one tries to keep it clean. Jetskis and motor boats don't help and tourists not disposing of their rubbish correctly also don't help. Better beaches elsewhere.
