The Restaurant section on TripAdvisor remains the most difficult for users. Unfortunately any establishment that serves edible material is called a Restaurant. The opinions expressed also reflect the varied tastes of contributors that are much more user specific than tours, hotels or attractions. I concur that although Samero's is very good it should not be at the top of the list.

The selection is extensive and reasonably priced but there does not appear to be any flavors unique to Thailand or made on premises. The Sundaes are very creative and tasty and are worth paying the extra 50 or so bhat price over the cost of 2 plain scoops.

We were walking along the steaming, smelly 30+C streets of Patong when we happened on Samero's. The view from the street is underwhelming but a quick look inside revealed a clean and bright parlor with the waitresses dressed in attractive French Maid outfits. Best of all it was AIR CONDITIONED!

It was a fantastic respite from the street scene that was as pleasant as the actual ice cream

While we tried ice creams at few chains outlets in Patong, Flavors used at this place were very good. Must try and it's quite reasonable.

I too was surprised that a gelato ice cream parlour is at the top of the list of restaurants in Patong. Thus, me and my friend thought it is a must try. We went at night around 8pm and there was nobody there as it was night and most would be having dinner at that time. There was a nice selection of flavours and the 2 waitresses were indeed in their french maid costume. However, though we were served quickly, the waitress could have been more friendly and smile more. Even as there was 2 of us, only a glass of water was served to us. While the ice cream was good and worth going especially during the hot weather, I do not see understand how this is the No 1 under the restaurant list. Maybe something I have missed out.

Great ice cream especially sorbet. Also ice coffee shake is good. Only chocolate sauce is not too good. Service average is always on Phuket but at lease waitresses are very nice and dressed funny.

Just delicious gelato. Had the hazelnut and the chocolate. Both creamy as they should be. And the price is quite affordable. Much better that buying a measly scoop of Haagen Daasz for 270 Baht. Will be back
