Stayed here a couple of times in October. The room was a decent size at a little over 200 square feet. The bed was firm but comfortable enough. The rooftop pool was pleasant. I had almost no interaction with the staff so I have no comment with respect to them. Their foreign language skilles in English and Russian were good. Location is a short walk down to the beach and about a mile or so to Bangla Road.
The free internet in the lobby was nice. I'm not sure if the internet is all that secure. But is the internet anywhere all that secure? Probably not. I had a problem with bugs in the room but I think that was a one-off as the place was very clean. I wouldn't hold that against the hotel since it is a tropical climate. Sometimes you can't help who or what gets into your room.
There is a friendly kitty that hangs out in the lobby. That's cute. There is a pack of dogs that hang out in the complex of buildings. Most of them are friendly. You need not worry about them since the locals provide them with plenty of left over chicken.
The sat television could use some news channels other than just Fox and Al Jezera. At least Al Jezera has some real news and award winning documentaries. I grew quite bored with incessant coverage of the gov'ment shutdown and the Affordable Healthcare Act both of which are non events as far as I and most of the world concerned. I like RT. I'm looking forward to their probing expose on Police Tactics next week.
