“Crazy, Fun Times!”
Review of Bangla Road

Bangla Road

A must for anybody visiting Patong! This street is simply crazy! Especially around Songkran!

Tiger Bar is the biggest bar experience I've ever had. The prices are slightly higher than other places but it's a must see... the bar goes back for miles and miles!

Unforunately our Hotel was just around the corner from Bangala road which meant we had to traverse its grimy street several times , as a one visit curiosity then by all means go and have a look, however in the 2 years since i last visted, things have deterioated somewhat......the stench of the place is revolting , dirt drains cooking fat and sweat .....the ladies are just as friendly and colourful as always , their clientle are quite "disturbing" ...apart from the "stag do" parties , there seems to be a hard core of 65+ old pervs everywhere in their "bridge on the river Kwai" outfits ...looking like their mums have dressed them ......i find it disturbing to see these decrepit old fellers with girls as young as 15 on their arms....with them preening themselves as though they have "pulled" rather than their wallets....thankfully its concentrated in one area and you can escape to something a bit more up market(its not hard)

In the day, is a nice decent thailand weathered location where you can get an early drink from a open bar and look at the crowds wondering, you can also do your shopping with all sorts of items from lighter to t-shirts. well most people would rather walk to the nearby mall but i prefer the local feel whilst travelling. food here is great if you walk further down near the beach. lotsa seafood, lotsa western food as compared to local cuisines. theres alot of tasty snacks as well

But as the night progresses, the place get wilder, road start to get blocked at the end of the road towards the mall and beach. tuk tuks and cabs cant enter and start building up at the junction point.. crowd starts to form, sunlight slowly turn into led lights and BOOM

the wildest place a MAN can be... ladyboys start turning up, kids start wondering around asking you to buy various items, bars start playing music loud and the gogo bars start having girls dancing outside, touters annoying you with their shows and whatever sexy ladies they have...
clubs start having the promoters outside giving up half priced entrance tickets

one of the best place to be if you truly wanna have fun and crazy through the night

from 6pm onwards, it starts getting crazy but be prepared to spend, is worth it

This place is pretty crazy, in a good way and a bad way. I wouldn't recommend getting too drunk here, keep your wits about you, or you'll end up going home with a lady boy, or more likely, you'll end up paying for drinks for the entire bar staff. Expect to get bugged to buy stuff, go to a ping pong shows, and get dragged into bars. But it's worth seeing at least once. I enjoyed a lot of other bars off this street more then this street.

Was fun getting tee shirts etc, all the local sellers seemed in good humour and the usual rules of bargaining- keep it friendly, don't insult them and realise they have to make a living....we have a 10 year old and towards 8pm it does start to change a bit around the bars- so to avoid some 'interesting' questions might be an idea to retreat with the younger ones by 8pm..
