“My favorite hotel in Patong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2011

Just a few minutes from Patong craziness, this hotel is still in a quiet location and you can sleep without being disturbed.
I booked without much attention, and when I got there, I was surprised they had a swimming pool! It is small but nice and it has some massage functionalities. Good after a tiring day or flight. The owner prepared a BBQ in the evening for the guests, with local food. So nice!!
This is why I have been there twice already. Nice staff, relaxed place, good value for money. The best rooms are really nice and comfy. I haven't tried the cheapest ones but I will in July and I will write a new review about it.
Rooms are very well decorated, I love the small balcony. Overall, an excellent hotel.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and cozy as show exactly on the picture gallery. The hotel is abit hidden but we manage to find it anyway! Very disappointed with the swimming pool. I would say is a mini pool. Internet is free all night long or you may use their Apple PC in the lobby.

The Belle Resort was the ideal accomodation for my week stay in Phuket. I booked a Superior room, which actually sleeps two. These rooms are slightly larger than the single rooms, together with windows, which was perfect size for me. The staff were magnificent by being accomodating. Great facility of having free access to internet using the two Apple Macs situated at the front desk. The hotel is tucked away at the end of the street. This again removed much of the noise of main street traffic. Many great massuers down the street which is ideal if you wanted to rest up in the hotel aftrerwards. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and recommend this hotel. Thanks again to the staff!!!

Room Tip: Go for the Superior rooms if your travelling solo

Nice little boutique hotel. Very helpful staff especially Koy who drove us to a night market looking for some mango sticky rice. Quiet, cosy. clean and affordable. Room is good for single or couple. Not for big families.

Another plus point is the hotel provide transfer service to the spa for massages. Downside is the toilet floor is quite slippery and they only provide one room key.

The hotel's location is amazing. Just a mere 5 minute's walk away from the beach (5 would be an overstatement. its right there, at the end of the street.), and not much further from the gritty charm of Bangla Street, the home of countless watering holes, discotheques and cabarets. Yet, with all its close proximity to so many things, it is tucked away in a quiet lane, safely away from a city full of touts of every industry possible. The Belle offers a quiet solace away from the bustling madness of Patong, Phuket.

The rooms are clean, serviced with fully stocked minibars at down-to-earth prices. The only niggle would be the hot/cold water showers, which are near impossible to tame. But then again, temperamental taps are commonplace, and is a mere blip in a picture perfect setting.

In short, a no frills, comfortable stay in an otherwise great, cozy place.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2011

We booked a Superior room with balcony but they 'upgraded' us to a supposedly better Deluxe room because according to them the room we booked has some problem which they refused to disclose. The room they offered us was not like the one they shown on their website, it's bigger but the bed was hard the floor felt dirty and the whole place is very dim. We rejected the room that were offered to us but they claimed that there were no more available rooms for us.

After much discussion and waiting, one of the guest coincidentally wanted a bigger room so we swopped with their superior room. We were happy when we stepped into the room, it was brighter even though it's already night time. The bed was soft, the whole layout is much cosier even though it's indeed smaller(but who cares about size when the big room looks so cold and eerie?). And it has a bathtub.

We were happy customers then, the staff was really attentive and nice despite all the hiccups and whatsnot. Praises to a tall, small eyed, wearing specs guy and a small sized girl with short hair.

It was only until the very last day when we checked out, we totally blacklisted the hotel. We booked our minibus at 715am as our flight was 950am and it takes 50mins to reach the airport. We left our room at around 645am to check out. There was this staff(skinny small size guy) there to make the process and payment. He went up to check the room and then came down and asked if we've drank two LIPTON tea, we said no but we did take one of the mineral water. And he said, no? are you sure? And that went on for 10mins, he went up and check again and realised the housekeeping didn't refill it. I mean, come on?! Two lipton teabags?! Why would we lie about it?

So we asked to settle the payment. He didn't even know that we have yet to make payment. We didn't make payment when we checked in because we were not satisfied with our room. So he spent a good 10mins finding the invoice/receipt, we told him we are really rushing for time as we have a flight to catch. He merely laughed it off politely. Our payment is made different 'cause we have a discounted rate for the first night. Just then another couple came down to check out and guess what, he actually went ahead and settle theirs first! It was unbelievable! It was 715am then we told him we need to leave NOW if not we're gonna miss our bus and yet he LAUGHED again. We were so pissed and we walked over and insisted he get someone of higher management down but he claimed the boss is sleeping. We were really agitated knowing that we already missed our bus. He refused to understand what was going on and yet no one else could help us, the discounted price was stated right there and he didn't seem to get it. We showed him that we already paid a 10% deposit as required by Latestay.com but he claimed that the deposit was not for them. It was so frustrating bearing in mind we have a plane to catch and he actually told us to Shut up! It was 730am then we couldn't spare more time for this argument so we calculated the balance on our own paid up and left.

Indeed the bus was not coming back for us, we waited for taxi, no taxi. In the end we spent another 600baht for a TUK TUK ride to the airport as last resort, a good 50mins bumpy ride just because of a staff who can't get things right.

The 600baht was more than the price difference for the hotel room but it wasn't about the money, it's more like why should we pay more for something we didn't even liked/stayed?!

Other than this, all the other staffs are really friendly and helpful, I actually thought they were the most friendly bunch in Phuket until this incident. Location was good, it was right at the back of an alley but it's not really a problem, it's only less than 5mins to the beach and a good walk to the bangla st and shopping mall. Rooms as shown from the web are pretty, apparently they have type A and B, A is the newer rooms with good daylight soft beds, B is the dimmed, big cold rooms and hard beds.

All in all, my trip to phuket is great, will be better if the hotel incident didn't happen.

I had a great stay at The Belle Resort. It is 5 minutes walk from the central venue Bang La. It is at the very end of a dead end street, so it's definitely quieter than most other central hotels in Patong. I tried different types of rooms and the cheaper ones at 900 baht/night are comfortable enough. No need to spend extra money. The rooms at 1200 baht are nice and trendy but there is no separation between the toilet and the bedroom. The lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. There is also free internet access in the lobby. In summary, this hotel is good value for money and I would recommend anyone heading to Patong to stay there.
