We had an excellent meal, and by far the best in the Patong area. Do ask for a seat outside, inside has a bit cold atmosphere, although it is very nice decorated. It was also one of the few restaurants where we dared to order wine and were not dissappointed. Compared to western prices, it is still very reasonable, and maybe for Patong too. But compared to less touristy area's, it is quite expensive...

RECOMMENDED: The Patong area is full of tourists in flip flops & t-shirts looking for cheap pad thai. Never really bad, but never very good either. The handful of upscale places cater to those with money and expensive it can be.

Lim's is out of the way, by itself up a dark but paved road (Google maps is accurate). A nice authentic Thai menu, it's not cheap, but not horribly expensive and the setting is nice and the other patrons (generally) are dressed in smart casual. This is Thailand, so things are bit relaxed. Have a drink at the upper bar (great drinks with fresh ingredients) and yes not all of the staff is letter perfect in their English, but they are keen to make you happy.

This is an easy 200 Baht Tuk Tuk from Patong and they'll happily call a return vehicle or just walk down the hill (it's safe) to the main road.

I'd recommend all of the dishes but they are known for their massaman curry (get the chicken). As written before, I generally take all my meals at Lim's.

Note: I always make reservations, some nights are empty, some full. Easy enough to call.

We had dinner at Lims on a previous trip almost by accident and had a good meal so were keen to go again. This time we had good service and the table was OK, but really the food was just quite variable. Some of our party were very happy and some were disappointed. The standards in Phuket are now really high and this is relatively expensive so some of us were disappointed. Excellent steamed fish.

We visited this popular restaurant for dinner before wandering around the Patong area. We went by taxi - don't know how easy it would be to get there otherwise! We had a nice table in the small garden area but unless you were facing out you were looking at the wall. We went with some of the chefs recommendations but found the food very variable. The fish in lime was one of the best dishes but the lamb was chewy and lacking in flavour. On top of this, it was relatively expensive (£30 per head including wine) and we did not feel it was good value for money. The staff were delightful but the service was slow.

The location is on a road on the side of the landmark: Sunset Beach Resort. The road itself is dimly lit, don't let that discourage you. Once you arrive the decor is both welcoming and calm.

The seafood is delicious! I highly recommend the:
Steamed fish in lime juice
Sweet and Sour King prawns
Deep Fried Fish in Spicy sauce

Pricing wise its a little more than the typical tourist trap seafood restaurants in nearby Patong beach. But ultimately the food is worth it!!

Service: the service was impeccable! We walked in without reservation and was seated and greeted by v.good English speaking staff. They are very attentive and will regularly check to ensure your food is good.

Bottom line: Delicious! Worth it!

Note: next door is a bar from the same company. Didn't get chance to try it but it looks very chic and cool!
