A TOP RECOMMENDATION: I eat every evening meal at Lim's while in Phuket, it's that good. Phuket has numerous low cost trash restaurants and a handful of trying to be good but not good and throughly expensive places. Lim's is my only Phuket dinner recommendation.
In the back kitchen is literally a grandmother serving up authentic Thai food with quality ingredients. There is nothing on the menu bad. Order with no fear.
The staff of service boys are eager to serve though their English is a tad lacking, always good to have them repeat your order to you.
There is outdoor & indoor seating, plenty of fans and the whole space is very chic and nicely illuminated. An upper bar area with great cocktails and lounge type seating makes a it a great way to start the evening. Dress is smart casual (meaning shirts with collars and no flip flops)/
Pricing is reasonable but it's not Thai cheap (think more Western). Nice wine list, but like all wine in Thailand - expensive.
Sadly, Lim's was dead quiet during the week of our visit (though I suggest reservations). The last night we ended dinner alone in the restaurant - off putting if I didn't trust the place throughly. It was indeed a private dining experience in a nice comfy environment.
TIP: It's 200 Bhat Tuk Tuk ride from anywhere in Patong to the restaurant. Follow the beach road North, you'll pass a parking lot on the left (seaside) with cart food stalls and immediately the Sunset Beach Resort, TURN RIGHT and go up the hill about 400 meters. If the road looks deserted - you're heading the right way. Lim's entrance is directly on the road.
Heading home, they can call you a Tuk Tuk or we simply walked down the hill (< 10 minutes) and got a Tuk Tuk on the main road, no problems and a nice stroll!
