We are currently staying at Blue Ocean for our honeymoon for 13 nights in the deluxe room. We have been quite happy with many aspects of this hotel - the pool is nice, the staff are good, rooms are well cleaned, however when we arrived we were informed that there was some issues with the hot water (our whole stay was prepaid).

They were very vague about when it would be fixed, but it would be fixed very soon. A minute later, another angry guest came in yelling at the staff that the hot water has now been out for three days and demanded to know when it would be fixed. Again, very vague answers were given - she recommended we check out. The staff members looked very embarrassed.

It is now the third day of our stay and there is still no hot water. In order to have a luke-warm bath, we had to boil the kettle 6 times for a half full bathtub. When we last asked them this morning, they told us it would be fixed this afternoon, but it still has not been.

The Blue Ocean looks better from the outside than what is experienced from within. We booked for a Deluxe but for whatever reason the lady at the Reception wasn't about to give us one! We did eventually get one though. However it appeared to be very hard work for the Clerk. The Bell-boy was very efficient, taking care of our cases and introducing us to our room and its amentiies, which included an empty bar-fridge. Yhe first thing you notice when you enter the room is how spacious it is, the next thing is how shiney the floors are.... until you take your shoes off and walk around and you realise that the floor is not shieny, its damp/wet. We let it go thinking that it had just been cleaned and that we may have contributed to the "wet" when we arrived as it had been raining. The first night was fairly comfortable, but the Air-con had been spitting out water and the floor was soaking. We had breakfast and went back to our room to discover the maid cleaning away. We told her of our experience with the Air-con and pointed out the water. She appeared confused, made a phone call, and we left for the day. When we returned we noted the room spick 'n' span, but the floor was still moist/damp. We advised the Reception staff and requested a "dry" room which we eventually received.
Dinner: Eating at the Resraurant at the Blue Ocean is ok but the menu is very limited, mostly Indian, but very nice and fairly priced, for a hotel.
Breakfast: Staff had to be asked to set tables in readyness by guests. They were more interested with their phones!! Cold eggs, pre-cooked. Bacon and sausages appear to be rationed, in that, you cannot help yourself you have to ask. Ask for more than 2 of either and you get a "free" weird look! But access to all other foods, (ie Asian/Indian), is plentiful and freely available. But be early for breakfast. There are 120 rooms in the hotel, but the Restaurant only can seat 62 people, with 50% (approx) of the seats in the smoking area..
Just metres away, down the road is the Hard Rock Cafe, and you can hear the music, (or noise if you don't like Rock) in your room. So ask for a Rear room, it will be quieter.
The Blue Ocean is an average hotel with nothing spectacular about it except, perhaps the Pools There are 2 of them, they look nice from your balcony, or passage window depending of your room type. The hotel is located within walking distance (10-15 mins) to Jungceylon, Bangla Road and the Beach.

After i chekout from Mercure Patong, i booked this property for 3 nights and i enjoyed it to the fullest. The rooms were very good with good service. The breakfast was the most realishing factor. I must say , the Thailand hospitality is one of the best in world ofcourse after india. The only -ve was the sewer behind this hotel, which they call it as" River". On the whole a nice stay with good price

I stayed her for about a week. The rooms are huge and the price is cheap so the value here is great! The girl working in the reseption is very friendly and helpful! Even though the rooms are big the air condition works great.
Very good place to stay.
The only big drawback was that they charged me with a fine for smoking in the room. I dont smoke so thats obviously wrong.
I just "mai pen rai" and payed the fine. Didnt want to argue with the staff.
Overall a good hotel experience.
