“Loved this hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2011

We stayed in a deluxe with 2 balconies and only have good things to say about the hotel. There was construction and it was very loud during the day but we were pretty much always gone. The room was very large, the bed was comfy and the view was great. It is a bit of a walk depending on what you are going for but there is a mall close and some markets are also close. The breakfast was great, with a good selection. The staff was really helpful and tried to do everything they could for us when we asked. We only have great things to say about this hotel.

Booked this through Expedia and had a look at some of the reviews on this site after we booked it so wasnt expecting too much, but it was really clean a little noisy at times with some building work going on next door but quiet most of the time and only a five minute walk into the main area of Pattong and a free bus to beach the staff couldnt be more helpfull especially a lady called Tukta who went out of her way to help up with booking trips ,taxis ect ,we had Breakfast most days and it was really good and lunch some days too and again couldnt fault it ,have stayed in various 4 and 5 star Hotels in Phuket before and wouldnt hesitate to go back to this Hotel when we next visit Pattong.

Room Tip: rooms with doors on to pool looked the best

Good and bad points with this Hotel. This is not a 4 star Hotel 3 star hotels better!!! We just came back from there we had 3 rooms with Family there Pool access rooms. So Noisy really if ppl say its ok they got to be kidding. Rooms and service ok. Location great. Staff mainly ok and try and help. Breakfast is the worst i ever had and been to alot of places. Egg station ok.
Not going to say what we all seen there was 4 of us seen it. So i wonder what else happens . Maybe we should have said sumthing to manger. When theyfinish construction maybe it will be better apparently they extending. No Gym. Should really downgraded to 3 stars. Anne was very good at front desk they all try and help there.

Room Tip: maybe pick a pool access room . Cant relax on pool chairs with noise around.

I have just returned from staying at the Andakira for 10 nights. There were three of us staying in 2 deluxe pool rooms. I cannot understand what all these people are complaining about. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our rooms, while not 5 star, was very clean and spacious. They opened onto a deck with our own pool lounges and the pool. Never were we bothered by people swimming past our rooms or noise from the construction. There are bars, restaurants and spas next door to the hotel that are great. The beach and Patong shopping areas are only a 10 minute walk. We had no trouble with room service, booking activities or wifi. At one stage the IT specialist even came to check that it was working ok, as we needed internet for family reasons. We asked for late check-out but our rooms were booked, they allowed us to stay until 12pm, then leave our bags secured at the front desk. Then were had free access to a shower room. Couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
The breakfast was varied and plentiful. I honestly think you get treated at ANY hotel whether 5 star or 2 star the way you choose to treat the staff and conduct yourself. I would like to thank the staff for a great holiday and I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: I would definitely pay the extra again and have a deluxe pool room. They are spacious and very well...

We are currently at the andakira and loving it. I really can't understand some of the negative comments on here about this hotel, while it isnt 5 star it doesn't cost anything like a 5 star either. You get what you pay for and this hotel is great value for money. We have a family suite which is two adjoining rooms - one is larger than the other but in total size there is plenty of space. The parents side has a small lounge area and a desk/breakfast bar - the bath opens into the lounge with glass shutters which could be romantic if it wasn't a family suite :)
The room servicing is a bit hit n miss - they have missed our room on a couple of days but have generally done a good job. If you tip a few dollars they do a much better job :)
If you like your coffee then bring some with you - the coffee ration is pretty sparse and not easy to find in shops - at least we could only find it in a foil bag which wasn't much good for when staying in a hotel. Wifi was a bit of a struggle early on with the laptop connecting ok. the iPhones (X4) took a day or two to make work. I think they don't have enough addresses in the allocation pool for busier times. Now it is working it has proven to be fast and reliable anywhere in the hotel.
Breakfast is great - bacon, range of toasts, egg chef who will do scrambled, fried, poached or omlettes to order. Plenty of fruit and salads, French toast and more traditional Thai breakfast foods. All in all it is a great spread and in my opinion the best meal of the day.
The pool area is nice, not huge but big enough to escape the heat and suck back some beer and cocktails.
The location is pretty good, only a 5 min walk to Jungcelyon and about 8 to bangla road - the beach is about 12 mins but there are free shuttles from the hotel.
There is a convienience store about 50M from the hotel.
Nice massage place about 20M from the hotel - clean and classy and cheap too!
Communication can be difficult at times with staff but it is achievable with a bit of patience. Some staff are better than others with English but all are polite, considerate and courteous.
There is construction going on on two sides of the hotel but although noisy it didn't bother us as the doors were always shut with the AC on.
I would definantly return

This place was bad.. to start.. we showed up they over booked! stuck us in the crappy hotel (the hip) for 2 nights.. I booked a suite and got a crappy room over there. Once we came back they put us in a standard when we payed for deluxe plus. Once that was figured out they moved us. They staff is not friendly and the manager only cares about making money. Do not make the same mistake and stay here.. go to the Holiday Inn or any hotel in that area. There is also lots of construction all day starting around 7am! so do no expect to sleep in

Our family of 4 stayed there for 6 nights and everything was fine despite all the recent bad reviews. We occupied 2 rooms which were spacious, in fact the master bedroom seemed bigger than some that we've seen. 2 days before our trip, I emailed them to reconfirm our check-in and they offered to arrange transport from the airport for us in a minivan. I was glad to have this arranged because this hotel is newer, smaller and not as well known, so I didn't want to risk getting a cab at the airport and have a driver who wasn't sure where the hotel is located exactly. Who needs that when travelling with 2 kids and arriving on a night flight right? Minivan one way from airport costs 1500 baht. Check-in was speedy, rooms were a little dusty but clean and comfortable. Master bathroom was huge with both tub and shower. Both rooms had a small balconey that faced the other small hotels right accross, so the guests there could see us just as we could see them. Master bedroom had a small laundry rack to dry clothes on the balconey, but there was no iron/ironing board in the room and neither did house keeping have one to loan us... Thank goodness there are 2 laundry shops around the corner 2 minutes away. At first glance they look like tour shops, but look closer and you'll see a "LAUNDRY" sign. Charges were 50 baht /kg (no iron), and about 90 baht / kg (wash & iron). There are also massage parlors downstairs in the building accross. Took us about 10-15 mins with kids to walk to Jungceylon mall. Most days we tried to catch the free shuttle there instead, last ride is at 4.30pm. As many have already mentioned, there is construction, but the hotel has put up some sort of barrier to make things more pleasent in the lobby. Mosquitoes were plentiful in the hotel cafe due to stagnent water at the construction site. This is not the hotel's fault and these are hard problems to ractify, all due to the neighbour building something. Overall I think we got a pretty good deal for 2 rooms for 6 nights. Hotel is homey and comfortable enough. If this is what you are looking for, stay at Andakira, request pre-arrival for a room away from the constructiion noise (we stayed right in the middle directly in front of the road leading in from the main road.) If you prefer something a little more upmarket than this place may dissapoint you.

Room Tip: Choose rooms in the center to get good insullation from construction noise.
