White Sands Patong Beach

Have just stayed here for five nights, the reality is this hotel looks much better in the pictures than it really is, it is a fairly old hotel but it is clean and tidy and we found the staff friendly and helpful, has a pool on the fourth floor which was OK and we made use of it, the location was very good a five minute walk to everything. I always take into account the price you pay when reviewing a hotel, the price we paid was $50.00 AUD a night so can't expect five star for that price, the big question would I recommend this hotel or want to stay there again ? The answer is NO ! Because the worst thing about this hotel was the overpowering smell of sewage coming from the bathroom not all the time but often which smelt the whole Room out and was very unpleasant, for that reason I would avoid it this is the first hotel go many I have stayed at over the last six months that I would not return to, good luck

not the worst but close

This hotel will horrify you when you arrive. The reception area is horrible and the lift up to your room is the worst i have ever been in. We were on the fourth floor with the pool right in front of our door. An effort has been made to upgrade our room. It was freshly painted and had a new air con which worked great and you could leave on when out of your room - slide a teaspoon into it. The queen bed was two singles pushed together and was the hardest mattress i have ever slept on or tried to sleep on! Breakfast was ok nothing special great omletes. Staff were all nice except for the snakey girl out the front of the hotel who does laundry but the price is normal and she does a good job. I would never stay here again heaps of better choices but the location is great and you get what you pay for and this hotel was really really cheap.

Nice Location & Good Rooms

I stayed in this hotel just for last 2 nights, 1 march 2012 to 3 March 2012 Location just on beach, near to all restaurants and main thing Hotel has INDIAN RESTAURANT. Staff can speak & understand english very well.Breakfast not good everyday they serve same menu no change at all..i think they must add something for Indians if possible..Rooms are big & clean i stayed in royal suite. Pool is at the top with view to Ocean clean. I will definately recommend to my friends and will stay again at my next visit,

Room tip: All rooms are good but if you take Royal Suite room which is very Big and you can see Ocean from windows will be great,.

The best place to stay if you want to stay on the beach

A decently good hotel if you are interested to stay right on the beach. You can see the beach from the balcony and if you need anything that is available on this island; allyou need to do is step out of the hotel and look around. You surely will find it. The advantage of staying here is you can go down to the beach any time you want, take a stroll on the beach after dinner, enjoy the beach parties, have dinner at the beach side restaurants, treat yourself with Thai massage...and you don't need to worry about the local transport. We loved staying here.

Do Not Stay Here!!!!

i've never reviewed anything online in my life. i'm just not that guy. but this experience was so remarkably awful i need some way to vent - so here we go. were this hotel $3 it would still not be worth visiting - because of the dead cockroaches? maybe. because of the living cockroaches? perhaps. or maybe i say this because of the vile drain out hole in our bathroom that reaked of sewage. or maybe $3 is just too much for the white sands because the rock hard bed had a spring sticking out of the mattress. welp, at least the staff was unbelievably rude and mean and just plain angry for some reason. please please please take my word for it, DO NOT BE TRICKED BY THE PHOTOS OF THIS HOTEL -- THEY WERE CLEARLY TAKEN YEARS BEFORE THE ENTIRE PLACE WENT TO HELL.

Room tip: no room is good.
