My husband and I went to Phuket, Thailand for some time away together, and we really enjoyed our stay at Tri Trang. We had a room on the 5th floor, and it over looked the bay area, and you could see Patong Beach from there. The beach was private just for hotel guests, so it was much cleaner, quieter, and more relaxing than Patong. They have nice lounge chairs, umbrellas, and have beach towels free of charge to use for the day. The bed is a little hard, which is typical Thai style from what we have found. The bathroom was spacious and had a nice shower. There was a little balcony and some plastic chairs out on it. They have a fridge stocked with soda, water, and alcohol, but we found it was much cheaper to stock up on beverages when we took the hotel shuttle to go shopping- for example water at the hotel was 40B, and in town it was 7B. Breakfast was included, which was a big buffet every morning. There was an egg station, where you could order eggs to your specifics. Also several Thai dishes, toast, a salad bar, juices, coffee, several kinds of fresh fruit, and some cold cereal type stuff. The staff was always helpful and efficient. They charge for every little thing, which is kind of a pain- like a water glass that I broke. It would be nice if they could just figure enough on the price not to have to add little things like that on all the time. There is a delicious restraunt on the beach area, where we ate quite a few times. Convientient and yummy. Half price drinks during happy hours every afternoon, which they would bring to you as you sunned on the sand!! There is a massage place on the top floor, which we were SADLY disappointed with, don't waste your time!! All in all, it was a good experience, and we would probably stay there again if we are ever in that area again.

Room Tip: The rooms that face the water have a full glass wall, it is beautiful!!

Our room was a standard room on the 6th floor which was literally a 9th floor where we had to climb 3 floors to be on the ground floor and then take an elevator. However it was worth enough for the magnificent sea view. Other room options are available which do not need much efforts for the sea view. Rooms are clean and spacious. Good friendly staff. Hotel has the best morning complimentary breakfast with variety of dishes everyday. All drinks are on buy 1 get 1 free offer from 4pm to 6pm which is an added attraction. Hotel provides free to & fro transportation to Jungceylon mall near Patong thrice in a day. I loved the every minute I stayed there and would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Young couples go for Standard room on a high floor.

The hotel is nice. Take only Deluxe room the rooms are big and clean. All the rooms are facing the sea. Big porch. Food is good. Only downside is the beach that can be not appropriate for swimming during the low tide.

Our room was spacious, clean and had magic views.
The breakfasts were great and the restaurant OK
Mostly Russian guests.
If you want the hustle of Patong, don't go here. Quiet and relaxing.
The shuttle bus is a bit shakey. Get on board early and don't sit in the middle seats.
There are some stairs to climb in the place, but they aren't too difficult.
I liked the tidal nature of the beach, constantly changing.

This hotel is an excellent hotel considering the price they charge and the location they provide. Let me get list down the pros and cons

Pros

Inexpensive: The rooms are fairly inexpensive for their size and facility.

Clean: The overall resort is clean. The pools were well maintained. The rooms were cleaned well , we came back from our tours to clean and tidied room each time.

Private Beach:::: This beach has its own private beach and to add to it all you can do snorkeling there. Pay 100 Baht for the gear and get going. Do not raise keep your expectation too high though but all in all the snorkeling was fun. <beware of some aggressive albeit small fishes :) >

View and relaxation on the beach: What better way to start your day with a good swim in the ocean and a pleasant view of the sea and the mountains.

Location :: This is good or bad depending on what your preference are. I like the location that is some 5-6 KM away from the buzzing streets of Bangla Road in Patong. This means you are away from the crowd but close enough to reach out to be part of the excitement in quick time.

Breakfast : Was limited but tasty. The restaurant is pleasantly located near the sea. So breakfast would be refreshing with the sea view.

Enjoy the spa and the fitness center and pool too.

Cons:

Expenses for travel to Bangla road. There are shuttle services available from and to the hotel but the hotel should consider increasing the shuttle service past 6:30 PM . Invariably you come late from the streets of patong and have to shell out 300 baht. So add 300-500 baht each time you make a trip from the hotel to places with action like the bangla road.

Language can be an issue at times ... Well this is the problem all over Thailand :)

Read a few comments on the internet speed. Well i was staying in room 4306 and had a fairly good connection.

And yes not all rooms have a sea view.

My husband and I recently stayed at Tri Triang and its is definately first class. It is 5 mins away from all the hustle and bustle and right on the beach front. The rooms are larger than any others I have seen in Phukett and for the price it is certainly great vlaue for money. The staff are also excellent and I highly recommend you do the Thai cooking class here as they treat you like royalty and it is very one on one. Thanks to everyone at Tri Triang who made our holiday wonderful and we will be seeing you again soon. Also everything you need is at Tri Triang Massage,Tailor, Beach, Pools, Restaurant, Bar, Drycleaning, Scooter Hire and friendly staff.
See you all again soon.

My wife and i have just spent a night at Tri Trang Resort as a treat for us. The room was good but a big tree blocked about 30% of the advertised sea view so i would advise spending just a little bit more on a superior room which is another storey higher. This is not so much of a complaint, as we only spent one night there, but a guide to a nicer room. The room itself was spotless with a lovely big shower room and the chambermaid very friendly.
The breakfast was basic but very tasty with all you could eat etc.
The hotel is situated on a very steep hill and when you have checked in to get to your room the lift goes down which is a bit confusing Ha Ha. Wheelchair access is very good as all the steps have a ramp as well. The facilities are all good and kept well and are all easy to find.
I Would advise anybody who likes to swim to book their holiday according to the high water tide tables as the sea recedes about 100 metres out uncovering a stony and rocky terrain making it very difficult to walk over but the kids would probably like exploring the little rock pools. Basically the tide is up either in the morning and out in the afternoon and viceversa. (6 hours between high and low water then 6 hours till high again probably 2 hours really good swimming before and after high tide but on the up side it is safe swimming then for all ages unless advised otherwise in the monsoon.
The restaurant food was absolutely brilliant the only thing was they don't have San Miguel beer but no big deal. Last orders for food and drink at the bar was 22.30, for me a little early as there is no where else to get a beer nearby but the room bar is cheap for a hotel. I asked one of the staff if i could get a burger or similar nearby to which she produced a thai menu then went off on her scooter to fetch it. Wow what a nice gesture was well appreciated and she didn't want any self payment which was so refreshing to hear in Thailand well done Tri Trang Resort.
Overall i loved our short stay and for the first time in ages had a swim about 10 am which was great to start the day with.

Room Tip: The higher the room the better the view go for a superior room for just a little more money
