The Album Hotel (formerly Tique) is such a fantastic gem that i had to write a review about it.

Reception:
First impression was a delight. The front of the hotel opens out to the reception, pantry and places to eat, drinks and just basically relax. Its modern chic deco with toycars and antiques was perfect place to have a photosession! We were greeted with juice and cold towel. If you were to arrive earlier before your room is ready and during breakfast, they would offer you to help yourself to it. Breakfast was a simple meal of breads, cheese, hardboiled eggs, yogurt and cereal. Theres freeflow of hot drinks, juices and mineral water 24 hours at the reception. Grab a couple of mineral water bottles before you go out and then cold towels in the fridge, juice and maybe a banana muffin when you return to the hotel after a hot sweaty day out. That made our stay so different from other hotels and resorts we stayed at where you immediately go to your room to relax. Every Friday theres an happy hours late afternoon with popcorn, snacks and wine to relax with other guests. Theres an LCD tv, 2 computers for guests to use with free Wifi all over the hotel and CD player for you to select what you want to listen to at any time of the day while you sit at the street level balcony looking at people going by.

Service:
Travelled with a 4 months old baby and she was carried around by the staff every time she made an entrance. They even offered to babysit the baby if needed. The staffs are definitely friendly and would help you in any way they could. They do have a wooden cot but we rented ours. Negatives: We emailed them to ask about baby cot but they said they didnt have one. When we arrived, Oom, one of the staff there was surprised we rented a cot and asked us to show us the email which unfortunately been deleted. Housekeeping is difficult in the evenings because they had only 1 person at the reception. Our baby vomitted on the bed one evening before dinner, they had to call someone to help to clean it up. They didnt change the bedsheet though for reasons unknown. Nonetheless, they were attentive and friendly.

Location:
Perfect location at a corner a street away from both Bangla Road (walk straight frm hotel) and Patong Beach (walk right from hotel) makes it easier on the feet to walk around and away from the noises and crowd. There's a market nearby that sells more varieties of items than others further away. Cheaper too! turn left from the hotel, cross the street and and left again. Its just a minute walk.

Rooms:
We had 2 rooms on the second and third floors. Kingsized bedroom had a small balcony overlooking the street. Slightly bigger than the double twin beds room which had 2 windows and no balcony. The view from the rooms is not spectacular, just of the street below and the electrical poles and wires that is common in all of Phuket's streets. Small bathroom but definitely adequate with a shower with really hot water. Clean, smartly decorated rooms have DVD players, LCD tv with a good selection of international channels, hidden drawers for fridge and hairdryers. Dont bother bringing a beach basket. We were surprised when we opened the closet to find a beach basket, a "tikar" (a weaved mat) for you to bring to beach, 2 umbrellas and 2 robes. Bed was with a firm mattress preffered for by Thais and 4 lovely soft pillows.

Pool:
At the rooftop, you get a nice view of Patong, the ocean especially at sunset. The pool is more of a plunge pool and a good cold water jacuzzi. A good place to sunbathe and take a dip even in the middle of the night :)

Tip: Taxi drivers may not be fimiliar with the name. Pronouce it as "A-la-bum" and tell road name. Its just at the corner of the road.

Very nice clean hotel, the beds are comfy and the staff are great , its 2 minutes to all the action and the breakfast is sufficient.
If I were to stay there again, maximum 3 nights... only because the balcony's sit practically on the major power poles and the school's brass band that is across the road fires up at 8am. The roof top swimming pool is really just a dip pool, very small and room only for 4-5 people.

I stayed 2 nights. Really friendly staff. Modern designer decor with DVD and flatscreen in room. I like the idea of a shared breakfast table adds to friendly feel. Central location. Free internet. Rooftop plunge pool. Definitely recommend if staying short term in Patong.

This is indeed a nice hotel, central location, just 5min walk to beach and shopping mall.
The hotel itself is new, modern, and sylish.

Positives;
Very clean
Central in Patong
Positive and very friendly staff (thank you)
Good looking hotel
New
Free wireless internet, and free acess in lobby
Tv, and free dvd rental
Splash pool on the roof, and sunbeds

Negatives;
Construction works at building next to hotel, very loud in the mornings
Awful pillows and beds

But all in all, I would definitly stay here again! I give it 5stars, but only because it is a cheap stay. If this was an expencive hotel, it would only get 4 stars.
Breakfas btw is ok, but not too wide selection.

The decor at this place was modern with a quirky edge. Very clean rooms. They provided a decent breakfast with fresh fruit and great coffee. They also have drinks and snacks available all day to take at your leisure. The staff here is extremely helpful and very warm. I was here over the New Years and that had a cocktail hour for the guests, it was very thoughtful of them. Good location, you are able to walk easily to the main strip of Patong but are away from all that noise, which is nice as well. The beach is about 5 min walk from the hotel, although they do provide a shuttle. Would def stay at this place again.

I stayed the Tique last June 2009 before I moved my accomodation to the Twinpalm during my summer holiday. There are too many things to say here:

1. Location: the edge of Patong center and it is a perfect place to walk around and enjoy what Pathong provides and, at same time, great place to rest the nights without too much noisy.

2. Price: Most are intersted; for me it was raining season and it didn't hurt me at all. AT the end, I felt lucky to find this small beautique hotel, I might say.

3. Staffs and management: They recognized everytime I entered and left the hotel and they were always smile and kind. Don't forget the breakfast. It wasn't fancy though, it feed you in the morning with a great coffee machine. One example; the last day of my stay, I checked out at early morning because I had to go Phi-Phi tour. I left my luggage at hotel lobby. When I came back, I was very tired with high tide and all day-snorkeling and walking. And I had to go to other part of Phuket, Surin beach for just getting relaxed for several days instead of touring Phuket. They kindly allowed me to use a room at the first floor for taking shower and some rest before I leave to the Twinpalm. I was touched very much. Maybe it is nothing but a service. Think about that they have to claean the room again and all towels I used considering the size of small cozy hotel.

4. Others: Color and texture of the hotel is unique, which I like that very much. It is not a costly beautique hotel in the NYC or any other fancy places in the world. But, I definitely say it is its own 'cozy' and 'beautique' hotel!!! And don't forget the loop top pool. It is small but it is enough to cool you down and makes romantic moody night in or around the pool.

Thanks for your service and I hope to see you again, The Tique!!

We were surprised to find this gem of a hotel in the midst of the maelstrom that is Patong. The Tique is a wonderfully stylish boutique hotel with the most comfortable beds in Thailand. The Tique is located conveniently for both the beach and the late-night markets. The markets are a great place to eat out in the evening. We loved the playful and stylish decoration throughout, from the unique stylings of the rooms to the intimate breakfast bar. The best thing about The Tique is definitely the friendly, attentive and welcoming staff who were always on hand to make sure that we felt looked after. We look forward to returning there soon.
