Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Close to massage, restaurants, bangla, shopping and the beach. Pool on roof with awesome view. Groundfloor pool also nice. Spacious rooms however smelled a little like old cellar but clean. Get pool view if view is important for you as the rooms facing the other way go straight up the back wall of another building

ideally situated..beds were very hard, cleaners and bar/restaurant staff didnt speak english, asked for a cup of hot tea by the pool, they came out with coffee, they bought out new cup of tea but with cockroach swimming in it..complained to management but no correspondance from them.ate twice in restaurant [evening meal]..that was average...breakfast was highlight of stay..asked for banana split for a dessert and they dont do bananas..we looked at the menu again and asked for a banana milkshake..again thet said they dont do bananas..no bananas yet they advertise banana milkshakes???..the security guard and the welcoming guys were great but i am afraid, i wouldnt stay there again...especially after the cockroach episode..not even sure if cockroach was on the menu...but for no one from management to even come apologise was a bit off...we ended up paying for 6 bottles of water from the mini bar..the cleaner told us the water was free..apparantly the plastic bottles of water you pay for but the glass bottles you dont..lack of speaking english...asked for a bottle opener at reception...they sent a maid up to our room and opened our safe.instead of bringing a bottle opener.again lack of speaking english..pool was good, room adequate, ideal location...BUT not for our next holiday...one more thing..the day before we were leaving we asked the cleaners to do our room..they said they would empty bin and wipe over floor and give us clean towels..but wouldnt make or change bed because we were going the next afternoon

Room Tip: make sure you get road view/pool view

We stayed at the resort for 2 weeks room was always clean and had a great view from the superior pool view on the new side of the building. The breakfast is good and location is fantastic for exploring patongs main attractions. The staff are extremely nice. And although the hotel is close to patongs nightlife attractions the room was very sound proof.

Stayed for 5 days in a deluxe room.
Air cond was reallly cold. The temperature controller was not working, at times the air cond had to be switched off.
Balcony was directly facing neighbouring buildings.
There were problems with the toilet drainage. Each time we bathed in the tub, the whole toilet floor would be flooded, even the sink would get clogged up for no apparent reason!

Breakfast was very simple and same dishes for all 4 mornings. Bacon and eggs were good.

Find it very weird that it was stated in their site that the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. But there were no sachets of tea or coffee. However, there was a tiny electric kettle.

It was easy to get around from the hotel. But unfortunately it was raining everyday when we were there. Didn't manage to fully explore the area.

The location is superb, and Patong Beach,Jungceylon Shopping center,ATMs,Restaurants are all within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was working properly in the room and the bathroom.
Our only grouse-although we had specifically requested early check in in our booking,we were told the rooms would only be ready at 2 pm. As happens in Thailand everywhere these days, the female staff at the reception said-"you book cheap room, this only standard room,no have early check in,wait here( hot, open air lobby)",but immediately sent a tour operator to speak to us for our next day's tour booking. The nice male receptionist eventually managed to get our room ready after a short wait.
Other than that incident,it was a memorable stay and we will go back and stay at Amata with our extended family again.
Also, the tour operator was great and offered the best beach /island tour packages at the most competitive prices

Room Tip: If you have requested early check in and want to avoid our experience,It would be a good idea to ema...
