“Pleasant stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

We stayed twice at the amata and really enjoyed both our stays. The staff were friendly, particularly the guys at the front desk, near the pool. We got a free upgrade because we had to wait 10 minutes for our room, it was unnecessary as we had arrived early. But it was a lovely treat, the room was fab, it over looked the main street and was surprisingly quiet. Great quality for the price.

You can't do much better than Amata if you're looking for value in terms of accommodation in Patong/Phuket. For a reasonable price, you get comfortable, clean rooms with good basic amenities and most importantly a location that is unbeatable as its located at the heart of Patong and 2 minutes away from Jungceylon which makes it extremely, extremely convenient.

After reading a lot of the reviews about the new vs old building, I felt a little let down when they told me that the rooms i had booked (deluxe) could only be found in the old building and that the new building contained all the standard rooms only which were technically a downgrade.

In the end we had nothing to worry about as the rooms in the old building were actually pretty alright. They were reasonably clean and well-equipped, beds were comfy and the lights all worked. Our rooms were on the 6th floor and though they were the infamous outward-facing rooms, we still had a pretty nice view of the hillside behind Patong. In terms of noise, there wasn't much getting through at night.

Breakfast was adequate and should suffice for most. They pretty much cover the basics - toast, eggs, bacon, ham and a some local dish like fried noodles or rice with some juices and yoghurt and coffee and tea as well. On a side note, the room service was inexpensive and tasted quite good.

Service was impeccable throughout. The staff were extremely helpful at all times so kudos to them. The swimming pools are small no doubt but still good for a dip. The roof top pool is a must-try experience!

I would definitely stay here again on all my trips to Phuket unless I wanted to go to the beach every single day as it makes for a great base to be situated at.

Room Tip: As high as you can get

The location was great! we got around Patong mostly by walking and cheap food was around the corner. There was also a shop near the hotel offering tour packages and it opened till late so we could book tours scheduled for the next morning spontaneously.

The hotel staff are friendly and service was good. When we first arrived at the hotel, we were warmly greeted and offered glasses of fruit punch. Also, when we had problems with the safe in our room (it was spoilt), the housekeeping staff were very friendly and patient in helping us out.

The rooms were clean and spacious, only bad thing was the view from our balcony, so we kept our curtains closed most of the time. What I liked about this room was that it had triple beds, instead of the usual double bed + 1 foldable extra bed that most hotels offer.

Room Tip: A room with a pool view would be better.

We stayed here at for two days and found the Resort to have everything we needed and more. The staff were lovely, we had safe car parking, The pools and spa were lovely and clean. The deluxe rooms were clean and large with a lovely sunny balcony with pools views, They had a huge selection of TV channels, even Santana which has Australian Rugby. They had a fantastic large range for the buffet breakfast too. Close to all the night life of Patong but quiet when you get to your room. Ideal place to stay. The bed was harder than we like.We would stay again.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are good..

Our room was pretty large, very clean and the bed was really comfortable.

However a few improvements, especially to the roof top pool, which frankly was a wasted opportunity, would have improved our stay no end. So prioritising this would make a huge difference!

Nevertheless this hotel was good value for money and very well placed.

Good for the price you pay. The location is only 5 mins from the shopping centre and lots of market stalls on the way. I've stayed a few times and found it clean the best thing I think was the swimming pool. The staff are very helpful. The room I stayed in stated balcony but it was a sliding door with a view of a brick wall but I could handle that.

Room Tip: Try and get a room in either the new or old wing but make sure it faces the pool.

very great location, just a couple minutes from Jungceylon Shopping Center and Bangla Road (for the party goers) and about 5 minutes to Patong Beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and so are the swimming pools (one located on the rooftop of the new building and the other is right on the front) and has free wi-fi. Free breakfast was a definite plus with a good selection of food and the coffee was great. We had a great time and would definitely come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Opt for a higher floors, much quieter and if possible ask for a room in the new building.
