“Pure Luxury in Fantastic Location”
Reviewed August 29, 2010

We travelled to Phuket for a work conference and decided to spend a few nights in La Flora after the conference had finished. During the conference we stayed at Movenpick Resort at Karon Beach and we were quite disappointed with the service levels we received there.

When we got to La Flora, the service we received there was excellent and the the hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The check in process was pleasant and pretty quick. Mr Wuti and his team definitely give this hotel a point of difference.

Location:
This is probably one of the best things about this hotel. The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. It has direct beach access and we enjoyed walks alongs this beautiful beach in the morning and evening. We stayed in the Sea View room which had a huge balcony overlooking the beach.
The hotel is also only a few minutes walk to Bangla Road. We did not have any problems with noise at the hotel and found it very convenient to walk around Patong.

Quality of room:
The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. The Sea View room we were in had a huge bathroom and there were comfy bedroom slippers and bathrobes in the room. The only thing we did not like was the outdoor shower in our room - it was out on the balcony and when I questioned it, they said that it was very private and that no one could see you. Anyway, there was a privacy screen, but not enough to be completely private! It wasn't too much of a problem as we just had our shower in the massive shower/bath in the bathroom instead.
The bed was very comfy and pillows were great. The set up of this room was a little different, where we could only watch TV from the bed and not the lounge room. However, this did not bother us too much as we were so happy with the location and quality of the rooms.

Breakfast:
The quality of breakfast was pretty good...there were a good selection of fruits and they also provided freshly squeezed juices.

If you are looking for a super convenient hotel, then this is definitely one to consider. It is only a small boutique hotel, but it is very luxurious and the service is excellent. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and we would definitely stay here again. As an added bonus internet is free in your rooms and around the hotel.

When you do stay in Phuket a restaurant you have to definitely go to is "Baan Rim Pa". By Phuket standards, it is a 5 star restaurant and located right on the hill overlooking Patong Beach. Get there around 6pm and ask for a table by the balcony and you can enjoy a cocktail while you watch the sunset. We ate here with some friends on our last night in Phuket and throughly enjoyed it. The food is absolutely fantastic and the view is spectacular. This restaurant is a must to go to.

Having read the raving reviews on trip advisor hopes were high and we paid 5* prices for our stay. The hotel reception is directly on one of the main streets in patong, wedged between McDonalds and Starbucks - not exactly the kind of 5* setting that I am used too but we let it go. We quickly started to pray that our room was nowhere near reception and the endless whine of scooters that whizz past 24 hours a day. Thankfully the room was away from the noise and was relatively spacious but jaded around the edges and in need of an overhaul. If anyone is tempted to book the rooms with the private pools then be aware that they are far from private as everyone going to/from the beach walks right past your room and pool! Food wise then breakfast was good, plenty to choose from and good service. The rooftop bar is really nice but lacks atmosphere as hardly anyone used it in the week that we were there. We ate in the hotel a couple of nights and the food was ok but nothing to really rave about, we found the best food in Patong thanks to the hotel concierge who sent us to some really great Thai and Itallian restaurants overlooking the sea.
The best bit about La Flora is the direct access to the beach, however the access leads directly into the gay part of Patong beach so honeymooners and families who do not enjoy a thong clad carnival atmosphere need to head along the beach a little. Having said that the beach bar in front of the hotel is excellent and the staff are really attentive.
Overall then La Flora is 'ok' and certainly an oasis in the zoo that is Patong!, however compared to other 5* hotels in Thailand then it falls short by a long way.
Patong is pretty trashy with endless bars, drag shows and shops selling fakes, it is certainly not the idyllic Thailand that most people are looking for after a long haul flight but if this is your thing then La Flora is by far the best hotel that we saw in Patong.

We have just returned from 2 weeks stay at La Flora Patong, and can't say anything bad about this Resort. Everything we asked for or wanted was with no fuss.

We stayed in a pool access room and then requested an upgrade to pool villa which was outstanding.

The position of this resort was fantastic, close to shops, bars, restaurants what ever you needed.

The staff Tim, Wutti, Neung, Wut, Paul and the list goes on where excellent.

I would recommend this place to any honeymooner or couples who what class.

I will be back one day soon, I hope.

We have just arrived back from staying at La Flora for 9 nights - the location of this hotel is perfect - as you can walk to all restaurants, bars and nightlife
the hotel staff were all excellent and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble - the breakfast staff were very helpful and must say Woot was a great help to us
We have booked to go back next year as we felt this was a perfect location and gave us a relaxing holiday - we stayed in a pool villa and the pool was cleaned and very private all in all i would recommend a stay here for the relaxation and friendlist of people

My husband and I have only just arrived home after spending two weeks at la flora.
It was very disappointing to say the least. We had never been to Phuket before and decided on la flora based upon the amazing reviews on trip advisor.
The hotel is marked as 4-5 star, and the price of the rooms really does reflect this rating. I was expecting to walk into an oasis. However I was shocked to find a shabby minamilistic hotel wedged between a starbucks and a mcdonalds. The pool is mediocre and there is only about 10 sunloungers. The deck around the pool needed to be repaired urgently, I tripped on the loose boards a number of times. The rooms also need a refurb asap. The ceiling lamp in our room was only partially attached, in addition to this electrical wires were hanging out. The bed was AWFUL, the most uncomfortable bed I had ever slept on, rock hard and horrid. I have stayed in beautiful 5 star hotels around the world for a smaller price than la flora & have been faced with a faultless room & hotel. La flora does not consider the notion of "attention to detail".
The food is also horrid, don't get excited about the buffet and forget the retaurant.
If you can find a sunlonger, don't settle in for a gorgeous beach view, instead prepare yourself for a view of g-string clad gay men cavorting explicitly on the rows of cheap sunlonger. This wouldn't usually bother me but if given the choice I would prepare not to watch this whilst I'm trying to relax.
On a good note the staff are lovely, very attentive and welcoming but you get that anywhere, especially in the asian tourist areas. And the resort is right in the centre of patong, so we didn't have to worry about cabs if we wanted to go to dinner or shopping etc.
Overall, this hotel is ridiculously overpriced and I would not stay here again. Young honeymooners be warned this is not the hotel for a memorable honeymoon.

Booked the pool villa for four nights - First time in Phuket and researched for a few hotels including those recommended by friends, finally settled on this based on tripadvisor and the fact that it has villas with a private pool.Everything was perfect from the moment we reach, location was right in the center of Patong Beach 2 mins from Bangla Road, sit down to check in where the staff will bring u ur check in info instead of the usual check in which is done over the counter... to the general manager personally welcoming you to the hotel, and leaving you a hand written note in your room to welcome you.. to the excellent room with a small private pool, large king size bed, large jacuzzi, a private loft with a flat screen tv and home theater system.. to free internet and well stocked minibar... to the warm greetings you get from staff whenever you go.. everything was great... in fact, we decided to forgo one day of sightseeing just to relax in the room...Bear in mind though that because of its open concept, there is no way the room can be in total darkness, so those who need to sleep in absolute darkness will have to bring eye shades..

This is our 5th time staying in the beautiful Resort.. do you ask the question of why we come back??? We come back for so many reasons, this resort is truly the best of the best.. starting from its location, its the only resort on beautiful Patong Beach, the rooms here a fantastic, we stayed in the pool access room, my husband loved it.. he loved the idea of having the shower, then bath then bed...then he rolls off into the pool, also being a very busy business man that he is, he enjoyed using the high efficiency of the free WI Fi connection to the internet in his room and anywhere in the resort, .. we also stayed in the sea view room... these stunning rooms are very modern and always super clean.. very good size and the best part about the rooms, is that they are not overly priced...they can suit anyones budget & taste..- from singles to married couples to big family's and honeymooners.. I also was told that the La Flora can plan your wedding here, right on the beach. We loved having a drink up on their rooftop bar, it was very romantic. I really enjoyed the shopping right across the road.. it was just too easy, not to mention the massive buffet breakfast the Resort put on every morning...I have to admit I enjoyed it bit too much this trip ... being 5 months pregnant- ha ha. Another reason why we love coming back to the La Flora Patong... is the staff here, wow.. where do we start!! well ok how about when we arrive in the airport.. we have a lovely smiley face staff member from the resort pick us up... from then its 45min drive to the resort, we jump out of the limo to even more happy and friendly smiles followed up with a "sawwa de cup khun Paul & khun Hannah " it is so professional from the staff to greet and remember you by your first name. Every staff member here is wonderful and so professional to the drivers, security guards to the front desk, concierge the cleaners, restaurant staff.. everyone here is great.. a very special mention and thank you to Mr Wutti he has aways made a stay here the upmost very pleasant and enjoyable.. its the little things that he does, he pays attention to the finer things that makes him stand out, we both really enjoy his company and his professionalism that he always shows not only to us but to everyone.. including his staff. Thank you Mr Wutti for always making our trip a happy and funny memorable one.. we will see you again soon. I do highly recommend this resort to anyone that is thinking about coming to Phuket.
