If you have a car, Gims resort is a very good place to stay, if you can book it with discount. The distance to the city is to far to go by foot. The house and his bathroom are very clean and big. Owners are very frienly. The houses stay in a garden and every house has a terras.
Coffee an thea, cakes and fruit are for free during the day, but there is no breakfast included.

The small resort won't win a design award for its bungalows since they are quiet nook-and-cranny handicapped and the interiors are somewhat a color-and-material mismatch, however overall the place is quiet nice. The people are friendly and the location is good, the area is a quiet residential neighborhood on the outskirts of town (Its easier when you have GPS, especially at night.) The bathroom sink doesn't provide warm water what I dislike, but there is a refrigerator, fan, a/c, and well working Wifi connection. The one reason why I can't give this resort a higher rating is a little lack in atmosphere, and first and foremost the lack of breakfast. A cooler too would be nice where one could by something to drink in the evening. The so-called "home-made" cookies are probably a couple of years old. Keep them in their jar. I was reluctant to try the coffee. There isn't a pool.

We booked here as i tsaid town centre as we had no transport. It is miles from anywhere, they did not serve drinks or food as it was low season. Not a kettle in the room only a walk to reception area, which had mangy dogs and cats everywhere.if you like hiking or jogging thats how far from town it is.The rooms were ok,not keen on the bathrooms though. The staf fseemed friendly enough.

We live in Thailand and travel a lot,we have been doing the north so looked up the guesthouses.we feel it was misrepresented on agoda saying it was nearly 5000 bat reduced to 1000 baht.It is only worth 1000 baht and doesn't include breakfast, the staff seemed not bothered in supplying breakfast as we had the only 2 rooms occupied. It is advertised as in the town centre.IT IS NOT.Luckily we have a car as it is in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are okay just dated and the shower over the bath was not to our liking.the bed was comfortable, our friends bedding was stained and dirty. No kettle tea and coffe making facilities in a room advertised at 5000 baht is relly not acceptable.we would never stay again. There is to much choice in the town where you can walk out at night. We could not sit ot on the balcony there is no balcony furniture, which seemed odd,why have a balcony?.we woke at 6am wanted a drink waited to 7 went into the reception breakfast area it was all closed the kettle switched off,we could not get ot to go to town for a drink as the gate was padlocked.we do not recommend here ,due to the service,if its out of season close don't give a half hearted service.

The review by teeno1 has totally misled other readers. Decorous guests are always welcomed. We, Gims Resort, have a fact and explanation for that situation.
1. Agoda has clearly announced our terms and conditions that Gims Resort has no breakfast service but we have free tea, coffee and cookies for our guests.
2. Gims Resort takes 5 minutes from the heart of the town by car. Some guests may prefer cycling, walking, or resort’s free transportation. It is obviously a short and easy route.
3. The staff informed every guest that the main gate and reception counter shall be closed for security and privacy of all guest. The regular opening time is 7:30 am. Guests may request our staff that the gate be opened earlier if they desire.
4. We are doing business with a good code of practice. Every room is carefully cleaned with reasonable price for every guest. If guests find our bed stained and dirty, they can cancel their stay and get refund.
5. We provide balcony with a set of furniture as a relaxing area for every room. Everybody can find either in traveler photos here. teeno1 cannot find balcony furniture, which seemed odd!
6. teeno1 stayed in room no.6, broke our washbasin cover, ruined our kettle switch without any apology. We charged him no extra expense, but he still blame us here.

Many guests, from many countries, visited us and went back with good impression. Polite, law-abiding and honest people shall always be honoured guests at Gims Resort.

We stayed for two nights whilst travelling round the Mae Hong Son loop. The rooms are really nice with a/c and there is a bath tub as well, which seems to be quite rare for accommodation in Thailand. There are deck chairs on the back terrace of the room so you can sit out and look across the paddy fields and listen to the jungle sounds too.

The staff were super helpful. Our car wouldn't start one evening so they helped us a lot - nothing was too much trouble. They called the mechanic for us first thing in the morning and even drove us in to town in the evening and picked us up after dinner too. There are also bicycles to hire for free so you can get about even though it is a bit far from the town centre.

We also left something behind and they kindly put it on the bus to Pai the next morning and we collected it from the bus station. Senee really helped us and the rooms were great so we'd highly recommend the stay here. The reception would make a great area for a bar or breakfast bar - they should set that up too.
