I'm sorry the reviewer below had a poor stay at Countryside Resort -- we had a completely different experience and really enjoyed our time there. We stayed on Tonsai for a few weeks while rock climbing and stayed at another bungalow when we first arrived. The rooms there were fine, but the rooms at Countryside were much bigger, brighter, and had big beautiful balconies. There's no hot water, but that's normal on Tonsai unless you pay quite a bit more. The bungalows at Tonsai were well located beyond the generators and fairly quiet.
When we first checked in at Countryside, there was a light burnt out on our balcony, but the owners changed it immediately. They also seemed very responsive to guest concerns and constructive criticism that would make the place better.
The beds were comfortable and we didn't have any issues with the sheets. We ate at the restaurant most nights, as they offered some of the tastiest food on Tonsai beach. They definitely had the best espresso - critical in the morning before going climbing.
Overall, we found the owners very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a fabulous stay and were sad to leave, as friends, not just as guests. I would highly recommend Countryside.More
