Owner description: This temple complex not only serves as a religious site for the monks who live and worship there, but also features a maze of natural caves in an overgrown jungle valley where stone tools, pottery remains and the mold for making Buddha footprints have been excavated.

“A trip to the top of the mountain is a test to your determination”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We took 1-2 hours to figure our way to Wat Tham Sua as it is not marked in the tourist map. We even asked several people along the way before we finally reach the temple. But this kind of exploration brought more fun to our trip

The climb to the top of the mountain is truly challenging. 1237 steps needed to top. Dont underestimate this trip as I was resting for more than 10 times along different locations when climbing up. Do remember to bring some water so that you can keep yourself hydrated. There is a convenient shop at the temple before you climb. Also be careful with those monkey sitting along the steps as they might attack you or try to snatch your belonging.

Once you reached the top, you will feel it is worthwhile that you keep your determination to climb up here. You can enjoy the breeze and the spectacular view of Krabi town as well as Krabi airport. You can also made your donation at the top of the mountain for the temple. There is a water filter machine where you can refill your water bottle before you heading down the step.

“beautiful place, pay special note to the nature walk”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

the temple, the view is amazing - if you are willing to climb more than 1000 stairs. What was really great was the circular walk through the vipasana area. it is a nature park, a circular route takes about an hour to do. walk through an amazing valley.
take water with you, and lots of bug repellant. A series of caves that the monks live in or pray at. amazing trees.
Walk with care - very slippery.

“Beautiful temple and great view from the top!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

A beautiful temple and it's a great view from the top! I visited it as part of a day tour from Ao Nang, which also included the Hot Spring and the Emerald Pond. It was a great day out! There are a few nice walks you can do around the Tiger Cave Temple and the view from the top is well worth the 1237 step climb. Make sure you take a hat and sun screen.

“Monkeys are fun”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We enjoyed visiting this temple, as there are a number of temples here and one which is being built. the monkeys are always fun to watch and they had some very cute little babies with them. We did this as part of a tour and our guide took us to the hot springs which are excellent and also the emerald pool. we also enjoyed a pleasant meal as part of the trip. Unfortunately we didnt get time to climb the stairs to the buddha on the mountain but when we go back we will definitely visit again.
