“I want to come back!”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

Hands down the best hostel I've stayed in Asia. Rooms are comfortable and air conditioned. The staff are superb, always ready to help and give advice. Showers are plentiful and clean and there are laundry facilities available. As others said the best thing here is the atmosphere in the rooftop bar, which often included live music (if you sing a song on stage you get a free shot).

One of the best hostiles I've stayed at in Thailand, if not the best. Beds are comfy, room temperature is great, air con for majority of the day. Bathrooms are restaurant quality, so nice. Showers are great, cheap cheap laundry. Wish I had stayed in Krabi a couple nights but was only here for a stopover. Things to do each night and some cool places to check out around the city if you have the time stay for 2 nights. With that being said, don't really need longer than that. But definitely stay at Pak-Up, you will love the experience.

We stayed in Krabi for 5 nights as kind of an in between.. The weather was terrible an we ended up not getting to do anything we ha planned.. Thank GOODNESS for this hostel! The beds were cozy, the rooms were clean! The front lobby bean bag chairs are amazing!

Best of all the bars are so fun! The only night life in Krabi happens at this hostel!
The bars are far enough away from the rooms that the noise doesn't disturb those who want a quiet night in..

The bars during the week have flip cup and beer pong tournaments as well as open mic nights!

We saw the options for other guest houses while strolling around Krabi and to be honest I think this is the only option for a great stay in this town!

The staff here were so friendly and helpful with booking tours and getting around, the rooms are very new and clean! They even have a rooftop bar with live music which is great at night! Absolutely loved this hostel, highly recommend if in Krabi! :)

I would give this hostel 3.5 stars because aesthetically it is real nice and modern. Very clean, comfy beds, and awesome rain showers. Wifi is great too.

However, the service by the staff is quite poor. Upon checking in they didn't even bother to show me my room or let me know where things are in the hostel. There is no effort made to know their guests. Instead of informing people about the night's events face to face, they just left flyers by the sinks near the toilets. Additionally, the events the hostel puts on our poorly run. I was here for Open Mic at the Sky Bar and they kept postponing the start time. Then on Monday night for Twister at the Playground, they never even played the game.

If you are coming to Krabi town this hostel can still be considered as it is lovely looking, but I wouldn't expect much from the staff here.

Hi,
Sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the service you received. It may be worth considering a few points though.
We have an activity board in the lobby showing the weekly events available and we actively walk through the hostel letting people know about the events and encouraging participation. In addition, we print flyers and hand them out while also leaving them in places where everyone will go (bathroom sinks) in the case that you did not see the board or meet with the promoters.
Last Saturday, the Open Mic host was ill and we only found out at 9pm. We eventually found a guest to replace him rather than cancel the whole event. Unfortunately this caused the event to start an hour late.
Twister on Monday was cancelled due to everyone leaving to watch the World Cup. These events do require a good attendance, and the fact that this was during an important match in the World Cup and low season meant we could unfortunately not get enough people together for that particular event.
Again, I am sorry you felt the service was bad but I hope the above explanations show you you were unfortunate rather than this being the norm.
Regards,
Management

This was one of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed in. I stayed in the Generator in Europe, and this almost tops it! The people are incredibly friendly and I made tons of friends. The playground bar was great, and i'm sure during Peak season, the daily events are probably awesome! We rented a bike for 180 baht for a day and it was the best decision yet! the decor of the hostel was pretty cool too, It has a great feel, and is very friendly. I recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: the room had great a/c - i was in "english" the bed was really comfy too!

Really good hostel. Clean. Nice rooms. No breakfast though. The main issue for me was the bedlight wasn't working. Besides that, they have open mic nights so if you're up to it, it's fun otherwise it might be a bit noisy.
And hopefully you won't mind some gecko visitors. You'll find them everywhere in Southeast Asia
