“Good value & location”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights in double fan room. The young guy with braces at reception was very nice & helpful. The other guy at night shift was not so much. The room is a little bit tight, as the huge wardrobe takes up a lot of space. The bathroom was an ok size. The room was ok cleanliness, but the fan could use a good cleaning. No toiletries provided. One light bulb in the room was out & so was one in the bathroom. The fan did not rotate & the batteries in the tv remote were no good. Only one electrical outlet available when the tv & cable box plugged in & the location is an odd one where a had to balance my phone on the doorknob. A handful of pretty good English channels. Wifi was working the first night but went out for the last 2. We were told that it was a problem in Bangkok. Could be true, as there were protests there, but many other places on that block had wifi, so…? The location is a 5-7 minute walk from 2 night markets, walking street & a few vegetarian restaurants. Also, close to the pier if you want to take a boat to Ao Nang or a boat tour of the area (we highly recommend Mr. Ann). Plenty of restaurants & bars in the area. Definitely a backpacker area, so plenty of young crowds at these bars. Overall, it’s good value for a few nights, but not comfortable enough to stay much longer.

We did not book in advance and spoke to a woman when we got off the bus in Krabi and arranged a room with her, one couple spoke to her, asked a few others and eventually joined us in the taxi to this place. The rooms were quite small and had a tiny little bathroom and there was no hot water. Although there wasn't anything horribly wrong with our room there wasn't really anything great about it either and you could definitely find better value elsewhere in Krabi. We stayed here one night before heading to Tonsai and checked out the night market which is 10 minutes walk away. We went to a bar on the corner just across from this place and that was quite fun, very Rasta-Thai but it is close to Tonsai after all. We stayed in Krabi one more night later in our travels and there was nothing that drew us back to this place.

These people are no hones Thai: I booked for the Baifern Hotel, but they offered me a room with matrasses on the floor and a broken bath in the bathroom. I refused this room and they offered me a room in the P Guesthouse, her brother.
This guesthouse let me pay cash and Mrs Baifern has charged my creditcard.... The owners deny that they earned twice..
SO DO NOT GO HERE !

I have visited this g.h. every year for the past 7 years. The family is not good at refurbishing broken or faded fitments but continues to provide spotlessly clean good value rooms and an unimaginably efficient travelled service. One word of warning, some rooms have very small windows and thus poor ventilation.

Room Tip: Choose upper floors, not those below street level.

Me and my partner stayed here for three nights and payed 300 baht for a double fan room with private bathroom. The location of the guest house is great, within walking distance of the pier and everything you need including the night market which has great food. There are share taxis that drive past going to the beach and to the bus station. Our room was ok, it had hot water, furniture and a tv and it was really cheap. The only downside is that it was underground so had no light and this paired with the bars on the window made it feel a bit like a prison cell but it wasnt really a problem. The wifi at the hotel is useless and keeps going on and off and can only be accessed at reception and sometimes in the bar but the staff are really helpful and gave us information of accomodation on koh lanta and let us use their phone to book our next guest house. There is a resident street dog that lives here called Man who is really sweet also. This place is cheap and clean and is in a good location and fine for a few nights stay.

About us:
My boyfriend an me travelled in december 2012 to thailand. We are a backpackers who try to get clean and safe budget guesthouses without reservation/on the fly. Fan-rooms are prefered because you will get used to the climate faster (and it's cheaper). We travel with sleeping bags, locks, powerstrip, toiletpaper, towels etc. so we will not shun a guesthouse if you get no free soap there.

Review:
We arrived late in Krabi, about 10.30PM and were trying to find a cheap Inn. The guesthouses in the lonely planet were booked out or to noisy (The Bag Inn has some kind of party every night/evening and we avoided dorms). After Checking the K guesthouse we arrived in the P Guesthouse. One room was available and so we checked in for 300B. The room was on the topfloor where a small bathtube was placed right before the door... it seemed like the roof was leaking. The room itself had a nice size with a huge rack/closet ... which was a bit to large because it partially hid one of the two tiny windows. Also there was a television and a private bathroom with hot water and towels. We found bug cocoons in the bathroom, the window and some ceiling bars were broken and fixed with tape also the closet and the bed were a bit broken. The windows leaked so we used insect spray to avoid mosquitos. The owner of the guesthouse was friendly, helpful and talkactive. Like everyone else he tried to convince us for a boat trip. Nearby was a 7-Eleven but the location could be better (construction area/abandoned area nearby). In the end we were glad to leave.

Resume:
The whole building needs a renovation, try to find something else.

Room Tip: check your room closely, do not forget to check the ceiling, the windows and of course the bathroom.

Nice clean hotel. All expected services. Wifi TV. Fan room 350baht €10 so very reasonable for a nice place.
Room had a little balcony which was nice. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Location was good. Only 5 min walk from Main Street.

Over all Krabi doesn't seem to have much to offer so comfortable room was important to us.
