Me and my partner stayed here for three nights and payed 300 baht for a double fan room with private bathroom. The location of the guest house is great, within walking distance of the pier and everything you need including the night market which has great food. There are share taxis that drive past going to the beach and to the bus station. Our room was ok, it had hot water, furniture and a tv and it was really cheap. The only downside is that it was underground so had no light and this paired with the bars on the window made it feel a bit like a prison cell but it wasnt really a problem. The wifi at the hotel is useless and keeps going on and off and can only be accessed at reception and sometimes in the bar but the staff are really helpful and gave us information of accomodation on koh lanta and let us use their phone to book our next guest house. There is a resident street dog that lives here called Man who is really sweet also. This place is cheap and clean and is in a good location and fine for a few nights stay.

About us:
My boyfriend an me travelled in december 2012 to thailand. We are a backpackers who try to get clean and safe budget guesthouses without reservation/on the fly. Fan-rooms are prefered because you will get used to the climate faster (and it's cheaper). We travel with sleeping bags, locks, powerstrip, toiletpaper, towels etc. so we will not shun a guesthouse if you get no free soap there.

Review:
We arrived late in Krabi, about 10.30PM and were trying to find a cheap Inn. The guesthouses in the lonely planet were booked out or to noisy (The Bag Inn has some kind of party every night/evening and we avoided dorms). After Checking the K guesthouse we arrived in the P Guesthouse. One room was available and so we checked in for 300B. The room was on the topfloor where a small bathtube was placed right before the door... it seemed like the roof was leaking. The room itself had a nice size with a huge rack/closet ... which was a bit to large because it partially hid one of the two tiny windows. Also there was a television and a private bathroom with hot water and towels. We found bug cocoons in the bathroom, the window and some ceiling bars were broken and fixed with tape also the closet and the bed were a bit broken. The windows leaked so we used insect spray to avoid mosquitos. The owner of the guesthouse was friendly, helpful and talkactive. Like everyone else he tried to convince us for a boat trip. Nearby was a 7-Eleven but the location could be better (construction area/abandoned area nearby). In the end we were glad to leave.

Resume:
The whole building needs a renovation, try to find something else.

Room tip: check your room closely, do not forget to check the ceiling, the windows and of course the bathroom.

Nice clean hotel. All expected services. Wifi TV. Fan room 350baht €10 so very reasonable for a nice place.
Room had a little balcony which was nice. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Location was good. Only 5 min walk from Main Street.

Over all Krabi doesn't seem to have much to offer so comfortable room was important to us.

I must say the staff was helpful, although I had the impression that only 1 of them speaks proper English.
The P. Guesthouse is central, which is not difficult in Krabi town, and cheap.
But the room we got was a shocker. Moldy smell in all the room, and the towels we got were so smelly that we had to order new ones. Same with the pillowcase. The room was under the groundlevel and the window gave us a nice view into some concrete hole with some dirt in it.
The room had no trashbin and NOTHING in the bathroom. No toilet paper, soap, shampoo, towels, bin. Oh well there was a mirror. The TV was not working.
I vote 2,5 of 5 because the staff was helpful and this is a budget accomodation, but the room was terrible.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at P Guesthouse. On arrival, the lady at reception could not speak any English, claimed to know nothing of our booking despite booking online with Agoda and tried to tell us there was not a double air con room available. Eventually we were shown to our room, however the room was filthy - rubbish including a bag of sanitary towels were still in one of the drawers, the towels stank of damp mould, the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned for weeks, there was no toilet roll (we had to go down and ask for some) the lights did not work in the bathroom so we were given a lightbulb which we had to change ourselves! The shower took about an hour to drain away so the bathroom continually smelt of stale water (had to leave the noisy fan on constantly) There was a balcony but it looked out onto the main road and a building site opposite - the door to the balcony was not secure at all - a great big gap even when it was locked. When we asked to move rooms, we were told that the room we were in was their best room!
On our second day we asked for the room to be cleaned but the woman didn't understand us and ended up shaking her head at us. When we returned from our day trip we found our room had not been cleaned so we had to ask for clean towels which they made an issue out of, we had to empty our own bin and again ask for more toilet roll. We had to do this throughout our 3 day stay.
We did not find the staff friendly and they seemed to spend the majority of their time on the guest computers watching YouTube videos. Other reviewers have mentioned a restaurant...I didn't even realise there was a restaurant!!
I know this guesthouse is cheap and we weren't expecting 5 star service but this was ridiculous even to seasoned backpackers as ourselves.

Room tip: Rooms at the back looked brighter and did not face onto the main road and building site opposite but if you really want a good room, I would look further down the road - there are plenty of guesthouses which all looked much nicer and were probably a similar price.
