Stayed at Baan Andaman one night on the way to Koh Lanta. The hotel is located a bit far away from a city center. Nothing much to see nearby but at the same time area is quite peaceful. During our visit there happened to be a nice night-market nearby the hotel but I do not know how often it will be held. A room was spacious and clean. A traffic noise was disturbing a bit in the early morning. A staff was friendly and helpful.

We spent four nights here, which allowed three days for trips out to the islands, exploring the locality and the inland sights such as the Emerald Pool and elephant trekking. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so was nice and quiet with a reasonable view inland. The staff were very friendly, although the guy who handled our checkout and payment had not been proerly trained on credit card processing. The breakfast room was very pleasant, and the breakfast buffet acceptable, although do not try the fried eggs unless you like them stone cold - they seem to cook a whole batch first thing and then bring them out a few at a time. There is a free shuttle in the evenings to the night markets - if you get a chance go to Ibrahim's Muslim eatery in the town centre market and try the Massaman - the best ever!

Room Tip: The back of the hotel is quieter

Good: beautiful rooms nice pool area. Good value for your money. Clean and friendly staff.
Bad: the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and if you want a beach you have to take the boat to one of the islands, the rooms are poorly sound proofed so you hear every thing, and in the building next door they had a recording device that emanated bird sound that was so high at 5 am in the morning and all true the day, keeping you from sleep. Also you can hear dogs howling and other guest in there rooms.

Very friendly staff and a spacious room, comfy bed and functional bathroom all at very reasonable price makes this a great place to stay in Krabi. A 5 minute walk gets you to plenty of bars and restaurants and it's only a 15 minute stroll into town. The use of the pool at the sister hotel was a real bonus and the breakfast was good and typical of smller Thailand hotels.

Room Tip: Rom 205 was lovely, only 1 set of stairs and had a nice balcony with a nice view.

The location of this hotel is a bit strange. It is out of Krabi town and quite close to the port but not close enough to walk. Krabi town is a twenty minute walk, but doesnt have much to offer! Location aside, the hotel is really nice! Large rooms with a lovely ensuite and comfty beds, a night of luxury when we were backpacking. Our room had breakfast included, which was lovely, a selection of buffet food. We used the pool at the sister hotel for free which I would definitely recommend doing as there is not much else to do!

Room Tip: Make sure you use the swimming pool facilities of the sister hotel which is a 5-10minute walk!

The room was clean, the only problem with the place is that it's too far from city where you can get public transport. Taxi to airport costs 500 Bahat, which is 50 Bahat in public transport.

The dinner we had at the adjacent group hotel Dee Andaman was one of the best experiences we have ever had, mainly on the Christmas Eve, the sky restaurant is awesome in every aspect.

After staying in Phuket for a week your body may be in shock from the rushed and incredibly busy December crowd. The Baan Andaman in Krabi Town is a wonderful little hotel and is exactly what we needed to catch up on some rest. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly. Every afternoon someone knocks on your door to offer you a plate of fresh fruit. You may also use the pools and services of the neighbouring hotels and a minibus to drop you at the shops throughout the day. For the price we paid the hotel and the service received was enough to out do itself. Highly recommended for travellers who are looking for a bargain.
