“Cheap and slightly cheerful”
Reviewed April 7, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Krabi. On check in the lady seemed quite friendly, when she asked us what we were doing and we said we had friends already in the area we were going to meet, she seemed to not bother with service from that point onwards.

The room is basic, no fridge and no safe, we paid extra for A/C however the fan in the room seemed to work better - I think the A/C may require maintenance. Overall a basic room but for a cheap price so can't complain. Wifi is in reception area, occasionally made it to the rooms but signal was weak. A few times the water didn't work in the shower.

We rented a scooter for 200THB per day. We weren't advised that they served breakfast so we didn't eat here and as I said the owner didn't seem interested when she found out we had friends in the area and wouldn't be booking tours with her!

she tried very hard to sell tours but failed to handle any problem. I bought 4 tours from her including a half day kayaking (operated by a travel agent named ao nang fasi tours). the "tourist guide" who could not speak proper English, did not issue live jacket to all of us! when I refered this to ya-the lady owner of ban to g/h, she did not take it seriously and told me that this is normal and asked me to stop and close this issue.
many house flies at the dining area, mosquitoes are all over the questhouse including bedrooms, I had more than 20 bites throughout my stay.
wifi signal was very unstable. the only router was at the dining area. I was staying on 3rd floor for the first 3 days and was unable to get any connection. when I told her, she denied it and told me that my device was poor (Samsung galaxy tap 2)!!! when there were 4-5 users, I could not send anything out even sitting in front of the router. she refused to look into this. I think she has been too complacent because of the positive comments and not willing to improve.
she charges 600 bahts/night is not cheap. I had found many other cheaper guesthouses in town area and equally good with better location.
NEVER STAY AT THIS GUESTHOUSE!!!!!

Lady owner Ms Yaa was very helpful and speaks English. Easy to ask her for help and booking day trips through her was fast & easy. Room was very clean. Location was central, 5 to 10 mins walk to everything you need - night & day market, river, plenty of eateries (must try food at 89 Cafe). Just walk to the back alley and up the slope and you're onto a main road where you could catch the airport shuttle and plenty of food choices too :) It also leads you to the river/pier to catch the boats to the islands. They also have a small cafe area that serves up decent breakfast which is what we had for our first morning. Thereafter, there were just too many other options to try :)

They also respond timely to emails - which is great as we had to arrange for airport pick-up and it went smoothly.

The downside for me :
I didn't like the pictures of religious deities hanging over the head of each bed. Perhaps they could hang it else where? A few switches & one light in the room wasn't working but didn't bother us much.

Overall it's value for money! Highly recommended for those who just wants a good, clean and central place to rest.

Room Tip: It's a walk-up, 3 storey building - ground floor units are recommended for those who might not b...

Firstly, Krabi town is a jumping off point for other places in the region such as Koh Lanta, Railay, Ao Nang etc. by virtue of its harbour and central position and hasn't really got much to it. We stayed for 2 nights before getting the boat to Koh Lanta, finding Baan To on Booking.com and reserving about 2 days in advance. The family who own this place are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic but big and clean with a/c. Most pertinently, it's ridiculously cheap, I think we paid around 450baht per night (apr. £9) which was amongst the cheapest in our whole 6 month trip across Asia. It's budget standard accommodation but to a good standard.

We stayed here for one night only and after getting to know the lady who runs the place we found her to be a little diamond. She organized the rest of our holiday for us! Taxis to places, days out and other things. I can't recommend this guesthouse more - Ya could come over to the UK and make a fortune in a Corporate London Office organizing things. The place was kept very clean and was all we wanted for our short stay. When we go back we will be visiting Ya again. Extremely happy :)

We stay here three nights and everything was good. The room was clean and the staff very helpful and very friendly. Ia or Ya (the lady) she is very funny. We have bought all the trips from her desk service, and the price was very good.
