The Charm is a modern hotel set in a large garden, close to the Khon Kaen university and its attached medical facilities.
The hotel has large comfortable rooms, a nice reception area and a small lobby bar. Breakfast is simple but adequate and served on a balcony at the front of the hotel overlooking a large pond, which is a beautiful setting in the early morning. There is no restaurant but a large range of simple but good Thai food is available as "room service" and can be eaten in the room or on the breakfast terrace if required.
The staff are outstanding in their helpfulness and courtesy and really enhance one's stay.
A bonus is the covered car park behind the hotel which is great in shading the car from the hot sunshine.
One needs to be aware of the distance of the hotel from the city, and the fact that some cab and tuk tuk drivers have problems finding the place, so remember the map the hotel supplies if you plan to use a cab to get there!
We were very impressed with the Charm and its staff, and recommend it for those visiting Khon Kaen, especially if they need to be close to the university or university hospitals.More
