This is the perfect get-away -it's only 20 minutes south of Khon Kaen. Set in gorgeous grounds, right on the Chi river the resort is environmentally sensitive and at one with its surroundings. The pool is recently finished after the horrid floods of last year and is most inviting.
The staff are wonderful, friendly and gracious and seem to anticipate your every need.
The restaurant serves good Western, Thai and Issan food and the coffee is worth going back for a second cup. The setting looking out over the river is mesmerizing.
I stayed in a Deluxe suite, which was decorated in a contemporary Issan style and was large and comfortable, however I would suggest upgrading to a Jr. Suite or a Villa for real pampering. The only downside would be that you might never want to leave your room.
The best part of my stay was getting on a bike and exploring the surrounding countryside cruising along dirt roads beside rice fields and through bamboo groves. Your only company is likely to be birds and butterflies, I only encountered a few motorbikes. You deserve to see this part of Northeast Thailand, it is so tranquil and traditional.
Oops, wait a minute maybe the best part of my stay were the two treatments that I had at the spa. I think they gave me a new body, I felt so clean and relaxed.
Oh well, never mind hopefully I'll be...This is the perfect get-away -it's only 20 minutes south of Khon Kaen. Oh well, never mind hopefully I'll be able to come back again and decide what my favourite part of the Wishing Tree truly is. If you area in the area and need to rejuvenate, this is the placeMore
