Stayed there in Dec 2012 with my family. It's a 15min ride from kanchanaburi (8km, 200thb by local taxi)
The setting is beautiful: luxuriant green garden, thai architecture and very well chosen statues all over the place. The swimming pool is deep and long, perfect for a swim while looking at the river Kwai.
The restaurant over the river serves very good thai food (one of the best Thai food I have ever had) and is very pleasant overall.
The breakfast is OK.

I would go back for a week end retreat for sure.

The only drawback is the bathrooms, that are very old fashioned and not well maintained. Ok for a week end stay though.

We recently stayed here for one night while part of a tour of central Thailand. Here is the upshot: the grounds are really quite lovely, and the setting is tranquil. But the rooms are very average and the hotel is isolated if you are here for a longer stay without your own transport.

The property makes an impression when you first arrive with the nice pool and setting by the river. Also, the grounds are nicely landscaped with statues throughout.

Our biggest disappointment was the quality of the rooms. The bed was fairly hard (thin mattress) and also the bathroom was very basic. We had only a trickle of hot water and the shower curtain was too short.

As others have written the hotel is fairly isolated. This was not a concern for us given our short stay. But if you are planning a longer visit keep this in mind.

In short, before booking consider what you are looking for. If you are looking for a tranquil retreat and are comfortable with basic rooms, this place may be right for you. For us, we would have preferred a more central location with higher quality accommodations.

We loved the room, gardens and huge pool. On the downside the resort is away out of town but there is a shuttle. The location is on the river and the views are great. We liked it and would stay here again.

Stayed there for 4 nights. The room service, cleaning of the room, friendliness of the staff and their service are excellent.

Ate at the restaurant and the food quality is better than average. Though the price might be more expensive than other areas.

They do have lots of furniture near the river but mostly are rather old and need maintenance.
This Resort has no more poolside bar anymore, though i thought i saw it on their website. That bar is totally closed.

Transport is definitely an issue unless you are not going anywhere. It would be good to look for taxi or tuk tuk services if possible.

The environment of the Spa is really good. The price is not cheap either though.

The overall serenity and ambience is excellent.

The swimming pool is big and good.

Room tip: Mosquitoes may be a problem. Lots of mosquitoes breeding areas and I have seen 2 with larvaes. repellent. Mini-suite room looks good and comfortable.

An isolated location, with very basic rooms. No free drinking water and food was expensive at the resort.
There was a company party in the hotel conference facilities across the road, which meant the otherwise peaceful suuroundings was shattered by some rather bad karaoke. Kept awake most of the night by a party in the room next door.
On the plus side, the hotel had a lovely pool and beautifully kept gardens. The staff were helpful and friendly.
