We went here on a trip to the area. Only some tattered photos and drawings. Don't bother with this one the Death museum and cemetery are much better. The best museum is at Hellfire Pass but it is a long drive!

The museum set in a replica of of one of the attap huts that the prisoners survived in gave a good impression of what life may have been like. The location within the temple and next to the river was excellent. But I felt that many of the exhibits were very dated, as though no improvements had been made since the 1960's. I feel a bit more care and perhaps reverence is due.

Dusty antiquities dotted around and even dustier building; a "been there done that" experience in Kanchanaburi. Plenty of photo ops.

I had visited this Museum several years ago & found it very interesting.

Unfortunately, this time when I visited I found the museum to have been quite neglected & rundown. What a shame.

There was an additional building with photographs of soldiers & history but it was a jumbled collection with no particular relevence to the history of the Kwai & prisoners (i.e. photographs of Czar Nicholas !!!).

What a joke and insult to museums.
Tired, faded, not maintained, do not waste your time here.
5 minutes and was back out again, place should be shut down.
Once inside its another 5baht for toilrt through the massive steel turnstyle, some poor man was trapped in toilet and nobody around to help.
In fact the only good bit of our trip to remember the sacrafice made by so many was the War Cemetry.
