We went here on a Sunday night, upon finding a number of other restaurants closed. As you'd expect with other restaurants being closed, this one was quite busy.
However, the amount of customers did seem to come as a surprise to the proprietors. There were not nearly enough staff and it took a long time to be offered so much as a drink. When the drinks were finally offered, we were advised that we couldn't have anything from their extensive cocktail list, presumably as they were too busy.
Imagine my annoyance to then see other customers being served cocktails.
To cut a long story short, this restaurant was hopelessly understaffed and produced extremely sub-standard food. The 'money bags' were undercooked, the pad thai very overcooked the tempura shrimp all batter and no taste. My partner's green curry was slightly better, but to quote him, "the curry I made the other day (at cooking school) was better than this."
We're moving on to Cambodia tomorrow after a month in Thailand. I can safely say that Sri Rung Rueng gave me the worst meal I've had in Thailand.
