The Dheva Mantra is a lovely low rise mock colonial style resort. It is spread over several blocks so always has the appearance of being quiet even if it is busy. However, this can be a negative as the bars and restaurants have a ghostly feeling about them, even on a holiday weekend.
Reception staff are functional but seem to be a little distant and are not as welcoming as you may expect. When I checked out there was absolutely no attempt at any conversation or any interest in the quality of my stay.
The pool area is lovely, especially the small pool bar.
The rooms are a good size with a nice balcony overlooking the immaculately kept gardens.
I would happily return here, it is ideal if you want to be left alone in nice surroundings.
TIP: If you intend to do some work on your stay that involves internet access, don't bother. As other reviewers said, the interenet connection here is woeful. The strength is ok but it disconnects every few minutes.

A great resort, beautiful maintained garden located on the river. Service is friendly and attentive. Please try their Thai restaurant on the river. Location is awesome and the food very good.
A great place to relax from hectic Bangkok.

The hotel is extremely attractive and incredibly peaceful. Great architecture and a pleasure to stay at, especially the corner riverside view rooms we had. Has the wost internet ever though! Literally in 24 hours was booted off about 15-20 times and kept having to re-input the username and password provided at the front. Service was also at best ok in general, same for the spa services. Would probably come back but would have to think about it.

What shall we say? We stayed in a familysuite in july 2013. The room is spacious for the four of us. Beds a clean, and also the bathroom.
The hotel is very nice with good service and restaurants. The pool is great.
Ask the hotel for transport to and from hotel. They arrange it very well.
Take a massage at the relaxing spa.
So, treat yourself and your family well and go here.

The building itself, the rooms and especially the swimming pool are top-notch, definitely five star level. We found the services to be somewhat mediocre. The staff are mostly quite friendly, but too many things have gone wrong in our 2-day stay for this to be a coincidence. For example, I had to walk 4 times from our hotel room door to the reception and back before I got a key that actually worked... Next to that, we visited both restaurants and both were OK but again not the five star level that they are aspiring.

We spent a night here as part of a central Thailand cycle tour. The building is an absoutely stunning example of recreated colonial architecture. The rooms are lovely and spacious with modern amenities throughout. I also tried out the excellent outdoor pool.

The hotel has an excellent in house Thai restaurant that is situated on a barge on the river. It services high quality but expensive Thai food. The food bill for three dishes was just under 1000 baht. Cheap by western standards but very expensive for something outside of Bangkok. One big disappointment was the fruit juice. We ordered a glass of pineapple juice and were quite horrified to see a staff member walking down with cartons of pineapple juice.

The so called hotel signature desert was similarly disappointing. It was plainly been sitting in a fridge for several hours.

Breakfast was fairly mediocre by Western standards with some of the worst coffe I've ever tasted.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay and the beautiful well laid out rooms are certainly worth a visit.
