“Poignant Museum”

The Thailand-Burma Railway Centre

This museum gives the visitor the impression of what life was like for those unfortunate POWs made to work on the railway line during WWII. There are various models, videos, displays and artefacts from the era. It might be sad and upsetting but important that these events in history are remembered and not forgotten.

Lots of info, written and video, as well as artefacts. Very informative and moving. Also great little shop and cafe. Right across the road from the cemetery.

A great representation of the Death Railway. My kids & I learnt a great deal about the history of the war and the construction of the railway.

It's a good start to know about this province. You can read very detailed information about the history in WWII and the railway. Overlooking the Allied War cemetery on the first floor, it just gives you deep thoughts time when you enter the centre.
