“Eat the Thai spiced rice”
Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

I had the blue Thai style rice and it made a great, good value lunch. Fresh, beautiful flavours. Fairly average street though.

“Really pleasant”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Really nice spot to stop for a drink, a snack or a meal; all we tried there was fresh and good-quality. Staff was equally pleasant - definitely a place to go whilst in Kanchanaburi.

“Cute=yes, comfortable=no, reasonable=yes, western food=average!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Went to eat at Mangosteen becz recommended #2 on TA. Friendly place with the owner serving. However it is just "a hole in the wall" with tiny tables and uncondotable chairs and extremely hot as non air conditioned and no chance for any draft besides lots of fans. There is one table for two on the street next to the side-walk and parked motor-bikes...but not really a spot to sit.

The menu is huge for tiny eatery like this and the prices are really cheap!! However when I did see the menu and prices I did think "how can they do"? I ordered the deep fried spring rolls and they were very hard and not really with any nice taste for my me. My main course was a pork Schnitzel (breaded fried pork) with French fries and a side of mushroom sauce; the pork was not that great and average at best. It was very thin and deep fried rather than pan fried and very oily with yet again little taste and the sauce was a powder sauce and the French fries a bit over fried and hard. The Schnitzel was only 130.- baht or about 3.-€ which speaks for itself and no one should expect real good value. The owner lady was very nice and therefore an overall average review rating from me; otherwise my overall rating would be less.
PS; my friends had some Thai food and they like'd it but I let them judge for themselves if they wish to do so. :-)

“Best place in town”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

In the main street with a lot of bars and restaurants, this small restaurant really stands out. It is super clean and is very nicely decoration. I was immediately drawn to it. Staff are friendly and the best of course is the food. Everything I’ve eaten and drank here was very good. Breakfast, fruitjuice, thai food and western food, all tasty and nicely presented. By far the best place to eat in town for still very reasonably prices

“Good food served with a smile”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

This family owned restaurant/cafe is the best place, in our opinion, to eat in Kanchanaburi. Here you get authentic Thai family food in unpretentious surroundings served with a lovely smile by the owner and her staff. It is delicious and very good value for money. There is a great atmosphere as well because the place is very busy (of course with such great food at such a good price!!!)
Definitely recommended.
