“Good value for money”

We got a good deal for the price we paid. Room was clean. If you are looking for a budget accommodation with clean facility, then this is it. Simple but what can you expect for such a good price. Location wise, i'm not so sure because we hired a driver with a car so it was convenient for us.

Food is first class. Accommodation is clean and modern and it's calm and relaxed. Only a stone's throw from bars and night life in town. Much better value than other places around Kanchanaburi we've stayed. We go there every time.

When ever we go to Kanchanaburi we stay at Apples Retreat. It is on the other side of the river, outside of town, so it is quiet and relaxing, but you could walk into town in 5 or 10 minutes if you wanted to.
The rooms are basic and simple (no fridge, soap, shampoo) only the basics, bedding, towels, etc. But this is what keeps the price so low. The rooms are big and spacious and very clean.
The restaurant is amazing, wonderful food! The menu is huge and there are many vegetarian options, which is great for me! There is a nice lawn going down to the river and you can watch the boats go by while sipping on an exotic fruit drink.
Apple and the staff are very accommodating and nice. Sometimes they get busy and can not offer you all the special care, but we found them to be very kind and gracious. They make exceptions if you ask, like storing your extra food in their fridge over night, or bringing your food out to the garden by your room, if you want to eat there.
There is always parking and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
Sometimes there is noise from a bar that is down the street, but that is rare and it's nothing that Apple Resort has control over.
We love this place and always stay here when we visit Kanchanaburi.

I was staying in the ac room that basically no other feature (apart from mattress) in the room. No toilet roll and even 1 small bottle of water. I guess i came back to the room late at night and their restaurant were closed and i couldn't find any corner shop near by. The mattress is hard n probably some bed bug too because i was itching all night, could may be only happened to me! The room over all it is clean and the garden too. Woud not stay their again for that price( (650 bath for the room that should cost 450) ,food vice its overated and i m talking from my Thai taste point of view.

We looked around town to compare the value for around the same price and Apple's outshone them all. Our unit was almost brand new with a garden outlook. Free transport was provided to their restaurant (which had a lovely view over the river and great food). They also make bookings for tours and activities.

The only furniture in the room is a bed, however it's very comfy.
Rooms and reception area kept very clean, all rooms face onto a well-maintained garden.
Good location as most places of interest are local.

We travelled around Thailand for a month and ate some of the best food on our entire trip at Apple's guesthouse. Yes the food is ever so slightly more expensive than comparable places but that's because it really is amazing, and huge portions. We took the cookery course offered onsite here and Noi explained how all the food is cooked using traditional methods and techniques, not compromised for westerners, and this really showed. Aside from the cookery course (which i'd highly recommend, and included a tasting trip to the local market with explanations of all the ingredients) we also took a trip to Erawan National Park and the Death Railway with the guesthouse which was great. The restaurant looks out over the river and is a really relaxing place to wind down with a drink after sightseeing. Lots of mozzies though so take spray.
Our room was sparklingly clean but i would agree with the reviewer who said the beds were slightly hard- only slightly and that really is nit picking. Apple and Noi were wonderful hosts and were happy to drop us off in town when they were on their way in themselves, or call us a taxi if not. Try it! it really was one of the highlights if our trip.
