“Fantastic experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

What an experience!! Located in a very beautiful part of Thailand Ganesha Park is a must do during your Thailand trip. Francois and his family are fantastic hosts and really make us feel welcome. We spent incredible moment with the elephants and play as never as thought I could do in my life: swimming with them in the lake, feeding them long walk with the. François’s passion for elephants and the Mahout’s friendliness really made our stay incredible. Just plan well your way there to make sure you fine it easily. Not difficult at all if you planned well. We will recommend the deluxe room with air conditioned accommodation. Be ready to use your frenglish 

This was an unforgettable experience! Francois' deep passion for the elephants in his care and the respect with which he treats them, made the day spent with these magnificent beasts super special. We walked with elephants, rode bare back, bathed with them, talked to them, stroked them and hugged them. Quite awesome to be in such close contact with animals that are so ancient.

Francois life story of how he first came to visit Thailand - a pure accident - and then how he came to return many times, before moving to fulfil his desire to rescue and look after elephants is inspiring.

Getting to Ganesha Park is not difficult, when you know how. It is definitely worth researching your route carefully; we got stung with 1500 Bhat taxi bill as we didn't realise that the Park was a further 80kms on from Namtok - we had taken the train from Bangkok. It is possible to get a bus to Thong Pha Phum (just 8km from Ganesha) but after a hot 6-hour train journey we took the easier, if not cheapest option.

Francois and his family were very warm and welcoming, though language was a challenge. Our 'school days' French was limiting and whilst Francois made every effort to communicate with us in English, some things got lost in translation. All the other guests were French also which made it a little difficult to engage with the rest of the group.

We chose the air conditioned accommodation which was off-site. This restricted our freedom of movement somewhat as we needed to wait to be picked up and taken to the main area for meals, and then dropped off again.

All in all though for anyone wanting to get up close and personal with elephants, this is a great way to do it in a relaxed environment, with plenty of time and opportunity to interact.

Francois and his extended family were the perfect hosts to our family of four. If you need a break from the craziness of the "real" world, visit Ganesha Park and hang out with the animals. We were so relaxed after our visit that we immediately started planning our next trip. Before you go, map your trip. We found out that the Kanchanaburi region is huge and it took longer than we anticipated to get to Thong Pha Phum. That was only a minor blip and didn't diminish our fun. Merci Francois!

Great experience! Amazing welcome from Francois and his extended family (including Rocky the monkey). The quality time spent with the elephants was a unique experience, far away from touristic places in other parts of Thailand. François and the Mahout just take good care of them. Our children LOVED this time with the elephants, swimming with them in the lake, feeding them pineapples, etc. Will return next time I come back from Thailand.

It was very hard to find a place on July because there's a lot of people at the period but fortunetaly for us, a couple couldn't go there finally and we get a possibility. Finally we really thank this couple for their cancellation because it was wonderful, everything was great : the place, the family, the weather, the food, the price and of course the elephants !!!

If you look for a 5 stars resort, for sure you're not on the right place, but if you want something unusual, amazing, peaceful, off the beaten track and very funny, you've find the perfect place!!

Certainly one of our best experience in our Thailand trip, we recommend it to anyone that's a unique experience much more personal than just a one-hour ballad on elephant's back that you can meet all around Thailand, there's a real exchange with them especially during the bath in the lack where elephants and their Mahout play with everybody in the best mood possible !!

Special thank's to François, the french owner who is very pleasant and funny !!

Go there, sincerely !!
Arthur & Helene

Great family ! Amazing welcome, you just feel at home !

Great view, so peaceful place, far from everything. So great to spend time with Elephants (two at that time). François (the owner) and the Mahout just take good care of them and you know that there is true love for animals (a monkey, two dogs,...).

For Children it must be incredible.

The best thing : the bath in the lake with the elephants !!!!
