“Perfect form & function”
Reviewed February 1, 2009

This is a very late review since we've been there when the hotel was newly opened. We stayed 1 night in the Studio Pier room. The design/ layout of the room was superb, perfect combination of form and function. Very comfy bed. Bathroom was lovely. It was great to be able to go straight into the pool right off our balcony, but there was also a lack of privacy since anyone could just 'swim by' your room. Lucky there were not many guests or kids around when we were there, so it was nice and peaceful. Breakfast was lovely at the restaurant by the beach. Food was excellent though a little pricey (compared to other local seafood restaurants). Overall, it was one of the best in Hua Hin terms of relaxation in style.

We stayed for one week over New Year - Overall a wonderful experience. The hotel is cool and charming, very easy-going atmosphere, staff is extremely helpful and friendly, very professional. Many guests from England, Scandinavia, but also from Thailand.
We had a Studio Pier in the middle of the resort (left wing - you get more sunshine here on your terrace than on the right wing side), which I think was the best for us if you want peace and tranquility. Closer to the beach there was more wind from the sea, and could be a bit noise from the pool bar (however this bar was not visited so often as the beach restaurant and lobby "Breeze" bar). I did not notice any noise from the nearby construction.
We loved the restaurant, great food and sea location. Sometimes staff did not understand 100% what we told them, and service was not always so prompt, but this could be neglected (come on, we were on vacation!!).
Prices in the resort were acceptable, given the high quality of food and service, but higher than in the area (spa, food/drinks, laundry etc.). Also prices in the minibar were very reasonable. The only thing I disliked was that prices for wine (both in restaurant and hotel shop) were outrageous!! The cheapest wine you could get would cost you 30 EUROs (over 40 USD) up to 150 EUROs per bottle, with little discount in the shop. So we bought good wine in shops outside the hotel around 10 EUROs and took it to our room.
The resort is very beautiful, but everything is made of raw concrete (not painted). I am not sure what the resort will look like in 5 years, I alreay noticed first traces of "patina".
The Z-Club Upgrade they offer you (free afternoon cocktails, free shuttle to Hua Hin center, 15% discount for Spa treatments) for an extra 30 EUROs per night and room did not look attractive for us, unless you are a heavy drinker or take a lot of treatments in the spa. Transportation to Hua Hin is very cheap and you are more flexible if you do not rely on the hotel shuttle.
Some more remarks: The rain shower is gorgeous, however the water temperature is not always stable, i.e.it often changes between hot and cold, which is not so pleasant. Also be prepared that part of the bathroom is under water after your shower since it is open (no curtain). The hotel says "no children under 12 allowed", however this does not seem to apply to local Thai people, since for a few days our neighboring building was occupied by a large Thai family with several young children, who were very noisy during the day until night.
Other than that, everything was perfect and our room was very comfortable, especially the bed and bathroom. The only thing we found was missing was a big mirror - there was only one small in the bathroom.
We will definitely come back to Thailand and to this place!

Since the New Year was packed everywhere, we decided to wait till it was the weekend after new year to come here. Let's sea was finally available. I got the Studio Pier Room, bought it with the spa package for 2. Studio Pier seems more lively to me as the water right outside always seem to be moving thus good vibe. Water was at 24C this time, way too cold to dip in comfortably. Moondeck room could be nice too if you prefer lots of privacy, it has it's own upper deck but it's not close to the water. Since there were no children around, and most rooms were occupied by couples and long stay oversea guest, it was peaceful even though the outside deck was close to each other. The resort is not that big, but I am sure lots of idea went into the detailing of the place that makes it very unique. Small, warm, exciting, colorful and cheerful. The beach in front is magnificent in the evening as the low tide pulls away leaving almost 800m of land for a stroll under the moonlight. It did get a little cold though at this time of the year, which is not normal for Thailand. Since there was no I-Pod given out, I picked out some chill out music from the front desk and played it from the DVD player into the LCD TV and bathroom speaker. That did the trick nonetheless, but would love it if the resort upgrade rooms with IPOD speakers at least. Spa was great with massages, but I did that around 3pm and the next building under construction was grinding away. So try to have it done around 6pm and later. They close at 10pm. We dined in the resort's restaurant 2 days on, and the food is always excellent. Breakfast was good too. Basically, it is a great place to be at if you enjoy a fun atmosphere with a hint of vibrancy. You still get to smile at others as you pass them around the resort. It's not too big that you'd have to pack your day bag just to leave the room. One complaint that I'd have is probably the power of the shower. Hot water strength is really weak, and it takes me about 1 hour to fill my sunken tub (really big). Don't know if that's only in my room but it seems like the room are fitted with non-commercial water heaters so it's like a leak compared to other hotels that I've been in. Maybe it's just me, but part of my happiest and most relaxed moments occur in the bathroom, so I hope something can be done and this place will be perfect. If you are a weekend warrior and can spare the time to come to hua hin often, this place is definitely got to be in your list of been there and done that.

The service at this resort was exceptional and really made the holiday enjoyable. The rooms are great and whilst the moon deck suite is great the rooms with direct access to the pool would be our pick next time. Try and get a room as close as possible to the beach and just watch for nearby building as there is a lot of development in the area and can get a little annoying whilst trying to relax!!

All I can say to anyone thinking of staying at Let's Sea is simply - Do It! My husband and I have just returned from 12 nights at the resort and our only regret is that we didn't have another 12 nights there. From the time of our arrival (after an overnight flight from Australia) until the time that we sadly left, we were treated like we were VIP guests. The staff were all professional and spoke english well (great as we don't speak any Thai).

The grounds are well maintained. I won't go on (and on and on) about the pool but it certainly lived up to all our expectations. The Sand Bar was great and we enjoyed the half price drinks at the end of the day. We ate a lot in the restaurant and the food (seafood, Thai and Western) was wonderful. We throughly enjoyed every meal we had there. Yes you can get meals (and alcohol) cheaper in town and at the Night Markets, but for a resort we considered the price of the meals reasonable. The drinks (especially wine) were expensive at the resort but we have come to expect that.

We did the cooking class at the resort and had lots of fun and laughs for two hours with two chefs and a hostess plus we learnt a lot about Thai cooking and got to make (and later sample over dinner) four different dishes. Let's Sea is only a short taxi or tuk tuk (or resort shuttle bus) ride into Hua Hin town and it was always easy to find a taxi back to the resort.

The resort does have a lot of young people staying there but also a lot of guests are older (we met several people our age - 50 plus).

A wonderful relaxing holiday destination. If you are thinking of a holiday there book now (wish that we could go straight back there).
