Mango Spa & Resort
Ranked #60 of 144 Hotels in Hua Hin

The hotel was very good and comfortable but very far from Hua Hin. Without the shuttle services from the hotel to the City, you would be absolutely nowhere. The pool needs thorough cleaning .
There are many insects floating about everywhere. A good place to spend a happy weekend .
Service was good and the staff were friendly.A good stay.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor are cleaner than that of the ground floor.

I was amazed when I got to the Mango Spa & Resort that particular morning. The shuttle driver kindly picked me up earlier as he normally operates, which was nice.

Mango Spa & Resort is located 8 to 10km out of Hua Hin in the “hills”. Basically off the beaten track. Also it is nestled between nice palm trees and other tropical plants. The garden is nice and green. There are three to four pools to swim in and some houses have private pools too.
The resort offers a free shuttle service to certain times of the day to and from Hua Hin.

A little bar is at the resort as well, where you can order drinks, such as soft drinks, beer and cocktails. Also you can get food between 9am and 7pm. Originally it was to 9pm, so I missed out the first dinner because of the time confusion. I had dinner a few times. The Thai food is alright, but the spaghetti carbonara was yuck and cost a lot more for its actual taste.

The room I stayed in was nice and the bed comfortable. It looks like a queen size bed but these are two single beds pushed together. The shower either has had burning hot water or cold, so the mixer didn’t work properly. At the sink in the bathroom the water splashed more in my direction rather than it runs out as it normally does. The little cooking corner was not really looked after, stain everywhere and pots not really clean/nice to cook with.

I got a bit worried when somebody told me of additional costs which would await me at the end of my stay, such as power, the number of toilet paper rolls I’ve used, soap etc. , as somebody has had to pay extra. That wouldn’t have been fair. Luckily I needn’t to pay.

It annoyed me that the light outside of the veranda didn’t really switch off during the night and that light brightens up the inside of the room because of those milky glass windows in the walls. Some houses do have a timer and every house does have a power and gas metre!
The TV in my room was not equipped with a DVD player in case you want to watch DVDs.

Bring insect repellent with you if you want to enjoy sitting outside in the fresh air at night, which is nice.

Swimming in those pools is brilliant. I was totally chilled out even after my first day and I stayed four days.

It was the first resort which doesn’t has it’s own website nor provides an email address at trip advisor. If you need one, check it out below.

The house I stayed in, costs 1,200 Baht if you book it there.

You are thinking of getting to the airport by taxi from Hua Hin? Book a taxi down town, opposite the Clock Tower, basically cross over the zebra crossing, left from the tower and head a little north along the main road, there are several little taxi stands. Ask them and it shouldn’t cost you more than 1.500 Baht. It will cost you 2.500 Baht if you book it at the resort. And those one in town also pick you up from the resort for no additional costs.

If you want to get to the Victory Memorial, there are a few different places. The next one close to the clock tower is, when you go further north from the taxi stands, just after the traffic lights (opposite G supermarket, which is sitting at the corner). 180 Baht per person for the whole trip from Hua Hin to Bangkok.

While I was waiting for my taxi to arrive, one of the receptionists, originally off work that particular day, came and offered me to stay in the house I’ve stayed in until the taxi come as it was going to rain. This came quite unexpectedly and I’m really thankful that I could, so at least I got a couple of hours sleep before midnight and needn’t to sit in the rain under cover somewhere.

Happy travels :)

The hotel itself was comfortable but the location was too isolated for comfort. Commuting to & from downtown Hua Hin would have costed a bomb but for the shuttle service run by the hotel. The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel amenities, whatever available, were satisfactory. A good location for people who just wish to laze away. The nearest 7-11 was 5 km away.

A beautiful place 10 min from downtown hua hin. The service is top notch and the bi-hourly Shuttle to the city is free of charge.

The rooms are simple but fresh and clean. The large pool is located right outside the room and a swim before breakfast is always a good start of the day.

Due to the location the place is quiet almost to quiet. So if a place where you can relax and read a good book is what you want. Look no further. This is the right place.

Also. The famous golf course Black Mountain is just 2 min away. So if you like to play on one of the best courses in Asia you have found the perfect location.

We stayed for one night only at The Mango Spa & Resort while we were sightseeing around the Hua Hin area. The resort is located off the beaten track but near to the major Hua Hin centre. The accommodation itself was comfortable and the swimming pools particularly nice.
It's a nice resort style hotel and ideal for stopovers or a lengthy holiday. Would definitely stay there again.
