This was an experience me and my family will never forget for all the right reasons.
Having 2 children that had never been outside the UK. the Villa was excellent 3 large comfortable bedrooms main having en suite. the plunge pool was perfect area to cool off, the local area had plenty of places to eat. very quiet even the neighbours were great and very helpful, shopping area 10-15 mins away. beach was really fantastic.locals are friendly. little Taxi firm just down the road if you need to go further a field, all in all had a great experience would recommend to any one.
the pictures do not do this justice only way to really get the ambience is to go.

“Comfortable, well located villa in Hua Hin”

We spent a lovely week at Lucy and Russell's place. Great communication by email with Russell prior to booking and he provided clear instructions for our taxi driver. We rang when we were close by and Russell was waiting down the road to guide us to the villa. The villa has a large open plan lounge, with a bar, kitchen area and large bedrooms. One bedroom en-suite and one bathroom off the living area. Plenty of towels for the bathrooms and beach provided. Dishwasher, oven, large fridge/freezer in the kitchen. Top loading washing machine in the covered yard off the kitchen at the back of the villa. Small pool at the front of the villa with covered car port and small terrace with table and chairs. The villa is located in a quiet, side street a few minutes walk from Soi 94 which has plenty of bars and restaurant. There are 3 or 4 other villas in the street, which is secured by a 5 foot security gate, locked at night. The main Hua Hin beach is a 15 minute walk away, but it was a bit blustery for our family and the kids. Ok for the kite surfers though. We took a 100b taxi to the more family friendly beaches 10 minutes drive south. The are lined with good value restaurants and plenty of sunbeds and shade. We had a great stay at Villa Lucy, the pictures don't do it justice, it's much larger than I was expecting. Only minor grumble is the empty kitchen. Usually you'd expect things like salt, pepper, cooking oils, washing up liquid, powder etc. to be available having been left behind by previous guests. But I guess that's one of the perks of the maid's job. 7 Eleven is less than a ten minute walk away. Minor grumble, we had the same issue in the apartment in Bangkok. Overall, a great stay and recommended for a well located, clean, affordable stay in Hua Hin. We were a family of 4 adults and two kids, 9 & 11. Cheers Russell and Lucy.

“Comfortable and clean with a lovely plunge pool!”
Reviewed October 29, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We had a great week at Villa Lucy! It was clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms and a great pool to chill out in. The area was good for hiding from the hustle and bustle of the town centre but also in good reach of bars, restaurants and the beach (walking distance). We hired mopeds for pretty cheap (150-200 baht) or caught the songthauew (10 baht bus) to town for the night market etc. Russell the landlord is super helpful and even helped us in finding the best bus for when we were leaving! It was a really relaxing holiday for us (3 friends) and staying at the villa was a little slice of luxury! I would stay again for sure.

We spent 25 days at Villa Lucy from mid Dec15 to mid Jan16. It was everything we expected and more. The location is excellent, close enough to the beach for a comfortable walk, and all other facilities are 2-5 mts walk away - a great choice of restaurants, spas, 24x7 stores. There is Market Village as well as Villa Market a short distance away. Russell was there to meet us and gave complete information and made us comfortable. The villa is very clean and well maintained - everything works! The linen is clean and the cleaning service is reasonable and done as per convenience. The gardener and pool visit regularly so maintenance is excellent. Russell also gave us a local phone SIM to use and introduced us to Nong - available with her tuk tuk within 5 mts! Quiet neighbourhood with expat - very safe and secure! We will surely recommend Villa Lucy to our friends and hope to visit again.

“Loved the house, the pool and the surroundings BUT ...”
Reviewed August 30, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

First I will start with the good things:
It was close to everything: restaurants, beach, market place and still it was nice and quiet.
It had good WiFi ( important for me for several reasons)
A lovely pool if you don't wanna take the trip down to the beach.

And the bad things:
You have to pay extra for the children (they count as a person even though they sleep in your bed). We had 3 children and 6 adults. When I booked I thought I paid the right price for 6 persons but had to pay an extra fee of 500bth/night per child. Maybe that should be in the description of the Villa?

The air condition in one of the bedrooms did not work. The fan worked but not the cooling system. It should have been checked before our stay of course. Then we need to have the main air condition running ( in the living room) which of course affected the price of the used electricity.

We had to pay for some stains that had been made on the granite in the toilet. No insurance for that I reckon? Actually I had no idea that you could not leave drops of water on the stone. Maybe put a sign that says "Be careful with water staining the granite" so less knowing people like me knows about it?

On small minus was that to get to the beach you needed to cross the main road which was heavily trafficed. You had to walk a bit to get to a bridge with stairs, which in our case was no option as we had strollers for our smallest kid. We took cab or car if we wanted to go down to the beach.

The tv had been upgraded but sadly enough it was not upgraded to the latest of tv:s. So HDMI and using Chrome Cast was non existing.

Overall I believe that if we where better informed then all the negatives could be erased. We had a lovely stay but these bad things put a grade of 4 down to 2.

I will recommend other people to stay here even though my grade is only a 2.

Management Response
Sep 7, 2016
Hi Magnus,

Please see below Answers to your complaints.

1.Before you paid your deposit, your booking details were clearly showing on the website for five guests, the property on the website clearly states (sleeps 6) you then had the opportunity to ask if 9 people can stay at the property.

2. You asked me to fix the air conditioning when you check out,as youinformed me knowbody was sleeping or staying in that bedroom, you should of kept the door closed,if you were concerned about using extra usage of electric.

3. You were asked by the website,as per the terms & conditions of the damage, which you agreed to,so your complaint does not make sense.

4. I would like to pass onto you my experience, that all previous customers who have chosen Villa Lucy for there vacation holiday have asked many questions before they book, which avoids all your complaints you have raised.

Kind Regards

Lucy

“Perfect!”

We were in Thailand for 4 weeks visiting family and were looking for somewhere to rent in Hua Hin that would accommodate 4 adults, 2 children and a new baby. Villa Lucy turned out to be the perfect choice in every way. The villa is situated off a quiet soi with taxis and tuk-tuks easily found a few minutes stroll away. The pool is a welcome addition and, with temperatures in the high 90's , a fair amount of time was spent in there! It was cleaned every 2 days which was reassuring and, except for a few hours in the middle of the day, part of it was in shade at any given time. The villa stands in a garden which is mostly tiled and has various pots dotted around. There's also a small lawn next to the pool. The car-port has furniture under it and is large enough to provide welcome shade during the day. The villa itself was spotlessly clean and has 3 good sized bedrooms, 1 of which is en-suite with shower, toilet and sink. There's also a main bathroom with the same suite. All 3 beds are large and I can personally vouch for the mattress in the main bedroom which is deep and has pocket-springs - so comfy! The kitchen is well-equipped and has so much more than is required for 6 people. In the kitchen there's a microwave/grill, fridge-freezer, built-in oven etc., and outside, under cover, there's a 4 ring hob (if you're wondering why this isn't inside just try boiling a saucepan inside in 90 degree heat!). There's also a washing machine outside, again under cover and the usual clothes drying rails that you see in Thailand. By the way, washing will usually be dry in less than an hour. The lounge is open-plan, well-furnished and comfy and has an air-con unit plus a ceiling fan. All 3 bedrooms also have air-con and in addition the main bedroom has a ceiling fan. There's also a floor-standing fan which is useful. We felt really safe and secure staying there as the main gate to this small soi is kept shut, the gate to the villa can be locked and and the windows and doors have good locks on them. You can arrange a cleaner via Russell but we didn't do this and, to be honest, the villa is so easy to keep clean we didn't feel it was necessary. We had our own transport so didn't need Russell to arrange anything for us but it's available. There are plenty of small restaurants and cafes on the main soi and the usual 7-11's. Wifi is excellent there. There aren't many tv programs in English but, after all, you're the other side of the world. I can't comment about how long it takes to walk to the beach as, due to the extreme temperatures this year, we either went in the car or took a tuk-tuk, The villa was ideal for us and we can't wait to stay there again.
